Knew it was an Aussie car, but never would've come up with Holden. Good call.

eh... Could just make it even better. Isn't there a rumor Ford is bringing a New GT again? Those two would compete quite nicely.

I hope they can manage to keep the price reasonable if they switch to this format, if not they need to go balls out and make a full on super car.

While I appreciate the history of the design of that car, I'm not sure you could build a more tacky looking vehicle if you tried.

Hell, the original was tacky. That was half the fun. But it was also in 1978

They won't, and that's why it'd be such a mistake. The Corvette is iconic because of what it delivers at it's price point. Ruining that ruins what the car is.

Buy a ZTA kit for a Camaro.

I don't think they plan to switch everything to mid engine. They will still build the standard Corvette but they will also have an exotic killer model (ZR1 maybe?) that is based on the mid engine platform. That's my guess.

I've seen a black TransAM/Camaro around LSU. Looks cheap imo

I don't think they'd do that to the Corvette either. Maybe a whole new model for mid engine. Id be quite surprised if they went away from the current corvette formula.

I think this is some other new sports car from GM. The front-engine, rear transmission configuration will continue to be a Corvette strategy.

I am betting this one will eventually be a Cadillac sports car.

GM announced in 2013 that Holden will cease production in 2017. So whatever they're testing, isn't for a Holden.

i'm guessing this will be for Cadillac. I don't think GM will mess with the Corvette makeup.

V halo car to compete with Audi R8... I'm ok with that.

My thoughts exactly. Not that the Corvette doesn't compete beyond it's price range, but GM needs a true halo car that fits in with the R8, upcoming NSX, etc.

That would be badass. The question is, would they develop a dual clutch transmission?

I think either it'll be a halo car for Cadillac or they'll turn Corvette into a line similar to what Hyundai has done with Genesis. The current 'Vette will stick around with the more exotic mid engined vette available for premium money.

That's definitely a Holden with a really shitty body kit on it.
