Is a Jeep Rubicon a terrible Vehicle for Causeway Commute

I am looking for experience with the daily commute in a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I want Jeep Wrangler Rubicon but I drive to Metairie from the Northshore every day.
I just cannot bring myself to buy a sedan or any of the look alike crossovers.
I will use the Jeep as a jeep from time to time but this will be a daily driver for me.

Just give up and buy a Rav4 hybrid.

Jeeps are terrible vehicles for any use

Don't be a 4 door jeep guy...

Yes I will, but no need to argue since you don't know me.
Why is it a terrible? I don't care about the gas mileage since I would think around 17 MPG is good enough for me.

I would imagine strong crosswinds would suck

What will you drive when your Rubicon is in the shop?

You do realize that many guys that do serious Jeep off-roading actually prefer the 4 door jeeps over a 2 door jeep for that purpose?

Loud as hell cant accelerate and it's a chore to get it over 60.

A few years ago I had a Wrangler Unlimited soft top. It's not fun to drive on the Causeway or the interstate. The fun wears off quickly.
I bought it new but it still gave me a lot of problems. I grew to hate it.
You'd do a lot better with a nice convertible or a pickup.

I have a Jeep, I love Jeeps, but I consider them strictly a recreational vehicle for having fun. I would never want to be forced to use one for commuting or long distance travel. Tis applies to what I consider real jeeps, have no clue about the 4 door stuff.

What year Jeep have you been driving?
My husband and I both have 4 door Jeeps as our daily drivers. Have taken several road trips in both of them. They are fine. Easily accelerate in them and ride comfortably doing 80-85 on highways in them.
Only ones that are loud are those with a soft top fwiw.

I used to sell them. If you like it, get it. I'm not sure why you want the Rubicon package. The Sahara package is really the bells & whistles daily driver model. If you just want the rims, get a Willys model. Cheaper and stylish.
Definitely do not modify it with a lift or anything else. The driving will be affected. I'd get the four door. The extra length makes a more comfortable ride. Get hardtop and hard doors.
Just my 2 cents, this would not be my choice for a daily commute vehicle. But if you are a one car guy and want a jeep, get a jeep.

Have you seen the reliability ratings of jeep?
I'm not touching a jeep let alone rely on one for my main vehicle.
They nailed the styling, but didn't even try to make them reliable.
