We had it years ago and my son had a cj7 that seemed to always breakdown and g they would tow us. I used them a few times for flats. We did pretty good with the towing program.

Absolutely if you drive an older vehicle.

IF you feel like sitting on the side of the road for 3 hours waiting on AAA because youre too lazy to change a tire, then go for it. It does come in handy for random times you need a tow though.

Absolutely. My grandma and her friends got saved one day by a nice man from the motor club.

They’ve always gotten to me in an hour or less, even late at night. I would say 3 hours is worst case scenario.

We live in a rural area and have never had good luck the 3 times we tried to use them. I’m done with them when our membership runs out at end of year.

You get 4 free Uber rides from them a year without worrying about the surcharge…and you get your car home free, so no return UBer and bugging someone to take you back to your car

I’d say that’s worth $75/year…..

I just had a blowout on I10 right before the hwy 30 exit Tuesday. Called my GEICO to use the roadside service through them. They said Pop-a-lock was coming. A few minutes later they called back and said they declined the claim and that no one else was interested, so I was on my own. Wasn’t a huge deal to change it myself, but being it was on the passenger side I had to get my truck pretty close to the right lane of the interstate so my jack would go high enough.

Got o work that night and cancelled GEICO roadside and got AAA. I’ve seen them all over the interstate assisting and even at the westbound split of the bridge in that median. To me, it is now worth it.

If you have full auto coverage, read the policy.
Some of the better carriers have emergency tire change covered. State Farm will call a tow.
Makes since considering the liability of insured property sitting on the side of I-10.
If you have verizon cel service, read the terms of the agreement.
IIRC, verizon will cover emergency service as a perk.
ALDOT has a truck that rides E/W I-10 from MS to FL and up I-65 to north of Mobile, that will change a tire for free, driver will not accept a tip of any kind.
That man helped me out of a heck of a jam.

If you don't mind waiting for an hour or so before someone gets to your actual tire, it's not bad.
Best feature is if you need a tow truck, it can save some serious bucks!

It's worth it.

Last time I had a flat they got someone there in less time than it would have taken me to change the tire myself.

I could also buy power tools and a floor jack but then I have to lug those around. Better to just pay AAA since I might need a tow one of these days.

Yes.
And all the other "roadside services" that insurance and credit cards offer are useless and full of small print bullshite.
Only issue with AAA is if youre stuck in the sticks. Had to wait over 2 hours in nowheresville georgia once. But in a metropolitan area they are quick.
Needed them to tow my flooded car from Gerttown, New Orleans as it was getting dark and crackheads were circling (mostly white ones oddly enough). Told the lady it was a dicey neighborhood and she had a guy there in 20 minutes. I waited with my ride for him to get the car up and connected before taking off. He thanked me for it.

Daughter is working out of state 600 miles away and called and said her car battery was dead last weekend. Luckily she was at her apt and not stranded somewhere. I wasn’t a AAA member at the time but I called and joined up for $73. Told them her battery was dead in advance when I joined. They told me just to wait until after midnight that night and I could use the service even though I wasn’t a member when she had the issue. Called the next morning; they were there in 30 min. Tested the battery and alternator. Battery was bad and they also had a replacement battery on the truck with them. Paid them for the battery and they installed and tested it all out. Everything is good to go. I was very pleased with the whole process. It’s a must have for an older car or a kid away from home.

No.

You are the service providers last priority when AAA calls them for you. Cash is king.

You could not be a pussy, changing a tire ain't that bad.

I have Geico car insurance and they offer roadside assistance for something like a dollar per month. Used them a few times for flat tires and dead batteries. The few times I have used them (in Nola) they typically send out Pop a Lock to assist. They usually respond relatively quickly. Well worth the money imo if you have your insurance through them, especially with a wife and young child.

I never had to wait that long for AAA
