You can tell who the young guys are on here that haven't seen this before. Just blow up a pipeline or powerplant each time they do something stupid. The Iranian people will eventually work it out with their leader.

Well, the persians are a long standing civilization thousands of years old. Despite the US being the world's current [waning] superpower, it is still only 500 years old. The persians have enjoyed a luxurious 5000 year histoty and they won't be afraid to mess with "the bull."

Iran govt can tell their people they responded and US is bad and keep power.
Us can say no casualties, Iran can't hit a barn wall from a foot away, we aren't scared etc... But can also start doing a no harm no foul de-escalation.
Because neither us or Iran wants a regime change. Which a real attack by Iran on us troops would provoke.

Here’s the rub.. Where was he killed? Iraq, near the Baghdad airport no less.
This whole thing has become very confusing because there are simply too many factions and hard head authoritarians to expect democracy, or even sovereignty. I say we pull out and unless they cross lines we are not willing for them to cross like attacking our allies, let them have at each other.
We are fooling ourselves into believing we will gain one thing from any of this now or in the future. We very well might be further entangled with China and/or Russia if this thing goes all out war though. Nobody wins here. Cut our losses and call it lesson learned. Don’t repeat it, and let’s focus our attention on this country for once.

Several here must of forgotten when the Iranian captured and held several Naval personnel and we did nothing. They attacked an oil tanker and we did nothing. They launched an attack against an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia and we did nothing. Their proxies attacked and killed an American contractor and their proxies attacked our embassy and we killed the man who orchestrated it. All through history if you ignore bullies and aggressors it emboldens them. You have to finally take a stand and say enough is enough and that’s what Trump has done.

Don’t escalate and just continue economic pressure.
The “US is bad” bump that the Ayatollah gets from this won’t last long if they have nothing else to use to motivate the masses.

That just creates more terrorists. That's the kind of shite ISIS uses in their recruitment videos. Show videos of the US bombing their land into glass and tell them they can help defend their home is one of their top tactics for getting new members.
