Oh, the wonders of the international marketplace.
I bought a new PC mind. It immediately knew what time and day it was. Both were wrong for the eastern time zone. Why? because the damned thing was set for Beijing China.
So we reset it.

So, you only want a calendar with New Years, Mardi Gras (if in certain areas), 4th of July, Labor Day & Halloween?
What? That’s an odd calendar.
I want the dates that affect my life.
Government holidays - check
Catholic holidays - check
Certain ethnic holidays - check
Certain remembrance days - check
Let me pick my calendar. You pick yours. What’s so hard about that?

I actually do care, just not in the way most people mean it. Knowing what holidays the people around me are celebrating at any given time is useful information, even if the holiday otherwise means nothing to me. I can't fathom being so much of a sensitive snowflake that it would bother me to see a holiday I didn't observe on a calendar.
Glancing at my own personal calendar, a working calendar that doubles as a planner, it’s annoying to have extraneous items on there. The calendar doesn’t even let me click and delete these items that show up as a dot on my macro view. I can’t get rid of them.
Secondly, I don’t like Islam. It’s a nasty brutish nonsensical religion. Moat Muslim people I know are nice, but I wish they weren’t fooled into believing this absurd heresy that is intrinsically a basket case of contradictions.
I don’t want Church of Satan holidays on my calendar either.
However, if Apple thinks it’s marketable to make Islamic calendars or Satan calendars, go right ahead. Just don’t muck up my personal planning calendar with bullshite that gets in the way and pisses me off.

I don't use Apple's calendar, but I just opened it up, and if you touch the little calendar icon in the bottom right, you can unsubscribe from whichever calendar you don't like. You can then subscribe to any calendar you do like. Looks like Calendar Labs is a pretty popular choice for boutique calendars.

Baw - they don many religions. They are an international company. Don't freak out when you see Hannakuh or Easter or Christmas.

Was just pointing out what a calendar without religious holidays may look like. Although, looking back, I am sure not all religions celebrate Halloween, so we may need to remove that one too.

And the companies that creates these calendars, for the most part, have all of this covered under US Holidays. I doubt it is worth it for them to create multiple options for the select few that get triggered by seeing a holiday/remembrance day that does not align with their views.
I just turn off the holiday tab on my calendar and let my kids school schedule tell me when a holiday is coming up. If they don't have a day off, or half-day from school/camp, I rarely give a shite about it.

I appreciate your assistance.
I’ve looked before and because of your suggestion, I looked again. I don’t see an option other than “US Holidays”. It’s either checked or unchecked.
Is Calendar Labs an app? I don’t see it. Or is that a separate calendar altogether thqn Apple Calendar?

I thought we were just discussing the Apple calendar that comes on your iPhone, not printed calendars. I don’t think it would be very difficult at all to add calendar options to the next iPhone update. They seem to happen every other week anyway.

Im thinking about returning the phone and gettinf my old one back if apple cant make this right when i call them again in a little bit. Any solutions out there from you fine folks on how to deal with this pickle of a situation?
You are seriously going to return a phone because it has a holiday on your calendar? This is hilarious.

Turn off holidays and put it in holidays you favor as a calendar event to repeat yearly.
You’re welcome

Baw, it’s a couple of lines of code. AI could write it a nanosecond. Just give users the option.
The myriad of excessive options they provide on every other app or function tells me this is a deliberate choice.
I explained it above. The non-essential and otherwise unrelated items that crowd my calendar view are a nuisance and an irritant. Especially since it’s completely unnecessary and probably intentional.

Your melting down over me asking a simple question? Take it easy there bud. I just want to pick and choose what MY PHONE shows me. I bought the darn thing, i want MY PROPERTY to behave like i want it to. Why are defending muslins and apple? Whats your angle here?
You sound like a major snowflake.

Why on earth would apple think we need to know about muslim holidays and have no way of deleting it?
Better for calendars to be blown up with holidays than holidays blown up by the people celebrating it.

My wall calendar I get every year from my parish doesn’t have that shite. Just lovely artwork of Jesus, Mary, angels and various Bible heroes.
