re: IPAs tear me up

One hot summer night years ago I went to a beer tasting. I drank 4 IPA pints and ate some of the greasiest fried pickles I've ever had. I walked a half mile back to my apartment and promptly puked my guts out afterwards. It took me about 8-12 months to stomach the sight and smell of fried pickles and IPAs.
Now if you offered me those, I'd drink 2 IPAs and maybe a handful of pickles. That's about all it takes for me to be content with life.

Beer is terrible for a man! Testosterone killer! Tequila Baby

Beer in general is giving me more of an allergies reaction in older age.
It's probably the yeasts. Oddly enough, the yeasts in milk stouts and a few other similar styles helps my sister's lupus and reduces joint swelling.

I don’t know that it’s allergies for me, but
I can’t drink much beer anymore. It makes me bloated and very uncomfortable. It doesn’t give me other GI issues, but man. It’s like all the CO2 in the beer just attaches itself to my stomach and refuses to leave. It’s less with light beers, but then I’m drinking light beer.
I stick to wine and cocktails mostly these days.

Gas is usually produced in how you inhale air as you drink the beer, not the beer itself. Try a nitro like Guinness or Boddington's, and you'll probably still have gas issues because of the way you drink it.

Next day IPA farts could be considered a war crime

A pale ale will give you a bad smell.
An IPA makes for a crappy next day.
A Bud Light makes you butt wipe.
That's all I got. . . . .

Likey an allergy to the hops. Pretty common for IPAs

Dry January like the English language?
Except on Tuesdays and IPAs don’t count, unless before sunset or pour with left hand.

Same. If I drink 2 or 3 beers I'm so full that I'm miserable. Bourbon goes down a lot easier.

I have a friend who can't drink IPAs so he drinks stouts and porters. As for me, I'll drink 6 or 7 IPAs per session and feel fantastic.

Never understood this either. Some claim they end up sick every single time from Taco Bell. I've never gotten sick or upset stomach once from the Bell that I can remember.

I have to believe all you guys that hate IPAs drank Jockamo one time and now think that is what all IPAs taste like
It tastes like you are drinking a pine tree. I prefer porters and stouts.

I had a jockamo last week and it wasn't bad. I don't know if they've tweaked it or I've become less hip.

If you were "aging" your IPAs, you brewed shitty ones. Hops start fading right after carb
He's talking about conditioning it in a bottle for a couple of weeks. This is common, and most agree that IPAs are best tasting after a couple of weeks in the bottle.
If you bottle your beers rather than keg, then yes, they need a couple weeks for the yeast to eat up the added sugar and carbonate the beer.
That's homebrew all bottled beers, has nothing to do with IPA, APA or anything.
For almost all commercial beers, which are bottled already carbonated, then in almost all cases, fresh is best for hoppy beers. Guys who keg want 'em fresh. Those hops fade with time, no question about it.
edit/add: I've been homebrewing since the 80's. Bottles and kegs.
