Business Report
See, what we'll do is, we'll lump a bunch of mortgages together and pitch these to investors as low risk securities because, I mean, what's the chance that ALL of these people default on their mortgages and cause a financial crisis?

Ah good old Clinton era policies that caused the mortgage crisis. What could go wrong?

Property has to be pretty cheap there. I imagine this is not a business decision for them. More marketing/sponsorship/donations.

Clearly they are a predatory lender.
At least that is what people will say in about 5 years.

Very interesting considering the guy who started Investar (John D’Angelo) is the same guy who used to own Aegis Lending right off of Siegen and the interstate which was the same kind of company. He knows what he’s doing and is very smart. He sold Aegis to someone in Texas right before it went belly up then turned around and started Investar.

Good ole mortgage back securities. Now with more low incomes

Yeah, you may want to check your facts on that. He is the one who did something very similar to this with UC Lending after leaving Hibernia. What he did was basically sell all the decent assets UC had to other companies and the Aegis came in and tried to deal with the non-performing paper. Aegis who was a prime lender didn't really want to lend to UC type customers so essentially they killed the remnants of what was UC (who was living on borrowed time). In fact, He and T Brown had the same thing with GMFS which was so toxic no one wanted to buy it. They eventually turned it around as a pass through. However, I would say he was smart in getting paid off from Hibernia and UC and turning that into Investar. If you dig into Investar, there are a lot of the same players that were involved in UC.

You can’t spell “Rat Infestation” without Investar.
