That's great. I'm just trying to wrap my head around how someone who loads one out justifies a $2,300/month payment on a depreciating asset (and that's a 36/mo, 0% payment, btw). Not saying I blame you, but it really makes you think about what all you could do with that money. If you can pay cash for it without depleting your savings or investments, then more power to you and Godspeed, brother.

I can’t believe anyone would spend over $51,000 on one vehicle that depreciates.

Are these pictures even real? I don’t know what they are doing to pictures now to make them look so virtual

I'm with you. I say let someone else drive it a couple years, then go for it. At least then you can see if they maintained it and if it spent time in the shop for anything. I have an especially hard time with this as far as domestics are concerned, granted I know where they actually do excel is in their full-size truck/SUV products.

All I know is that folks were roundly criticizing Genesis for employing the iPad-on-the-dash look for their infotainment system.......and yet, here we are.

I'd never spend more than about 33'ish% of my annual salary on a vehicle.

It shouldn't be that confusing that people have different needs and means than you.

I imagine there are people out there paying $2,300/month for an $80k vehicle, but I suspect you're proposing a relatively unique situation with those parameters.

It's a Chevy so...... no. I'm sure SWB and some other council members will misappropriate tax payer funds in order to lease it though.

this is what the wife does. Buys one that is around 3 years old. Shes rough on a vehicle and too damn cheap to take the hit on a new one.

I know we rip on long term loans, but as someone who keeps a vehicle for decades, it has an advantage. I can buy new and not get someone's problem. I have a 04 GMC truck that is still kicking.

Am I? I priced it out in High Country trim. Didn't even add the rear entertainment system (crazy to me that an $84k SUV doesn't already have this standard, but....). I hit $84k with plenty of options still off the table. At 36 months and with a 0% interest rate, you get ~$2,300/mo. Now obviously, you can make a down payment, trade in, etc, and cut that down, but not sure why you would do anything more than a trade-in at 0% (which they may not be ooffering on it presently, don't know). Your payment is still likely over $1,500/mo. That just seems insane to me.

Mine does the same. I just tell her to let me know when it's notifying her it's due for service and I'll deal with it. It would never get washed if it weren't for me.

Some people earned a degree in a lucrative career field and the depreciation is miniscule to them.

People who quote Warren Buffet and Dave Ramsey really think they are driving a 10year old Hyundai?

Buffet often is quoted to have a Buick but also has exotics, yachts, and numerous homes.
