I did it over the weekend because I had food poisoning. I came out of it with a pounding headache that medicine couldn't get rid of, almost no energy, and I didn't lose any weight after only eating a couple pieces of bread for 2 days.
Seems legit
well that settles it. the second to worst poster on TD ate a couple pieces of bread for 2 days and didn't see results. you guys should take your fad diet and move on now.

Don't you get hungry in the morning? You sleep late or what?

Debatable
There have been many best selling books on this specific topic arguing both sides
Calories are just accounting for the process, but do not explain the WHY (the WHY is likely due the factors in my previous post).
This would be akin to saying Bill Gates is rich because he makes more money than he spends. We would all respond by saying "No fricking shite" . The statement is accurate, but not helpful....

I tend to wake up kinda hungry. By the time I drink a glass of water and a cup of coffee, it goes away and I am good til ~10-10:30AM, and I have another cup of coffee and I'm good til it's time to break the fast.
During the 24-hour fast, I just plowed through water and when hunger came around I grabbed coffee. Caffeine is an appetite suppressant.

I do a version of "intermittent fasting." On Monday-Thursday I never eat lunch, and I eat zero carbs as well.
So I eat a carbless dinner at 7pm and dont eat again until another carbless dinner at 7pm the next night. So it is 23 hours of fasting as well as zero carbs for Mon-Thurs
Then Fri-Sun I eat like a pig at a trough. Been doing it the last year. I am 6'0, and I started at 178 with some flab, but not being fat.
I got down to 165 in about 3-4 weeks and have held there ever since without ever gaining the weight back. And it is the easiest diet ever.

o you guys workout on an empty stomach with this or just adjust the times? Most people I see do a 8-12 or some variation, but I workout in the AM.
I do cardio on an empty stomach but lift at night while doing the leangain protocol 16/8.
If you are trying to cut, lift on an empty stomach and eat from like 12-8 or even shorter window will give the fastest results. Bulking....just make sure you get your cals in but lifting on an empty stomach will help mitigate fat gain during the bulk.

3 pieces over 2 days. Yeah, I'd say that's fasting with 3 cheat pieces of bread. Started with a 100% empty stomach also

No it isn't. Your are causing an insulin response when eating the bread which is the exact opposite of what you are looking for while IF. You essentially negated one of the key parts of IF which is the mega GH release that comes from the fasting as the presence of insulin blunts the release of GH.
Also why in the hell would you judge a diet strategy based off of one weekend where you were sick?
IF is about control. It allows you to eat bigger meals so you feel satisfied and allows you to feel like you are in control of your hunger, not your cravings. Most people tend to have more success with it for those reasons, i.e. they stick to the diet better which is the whole damn point.

quote:Yep. I dont even think of it as a diet anymore. Just my lifestyle. So easy. The first 2-3 weeks were hell, as you can see I do zero carbs on top of my fasting stretch. But after that, it has been easy

Except people argue against calorie in/out all the time on this board.
So while it may be "no fricking shite" to you, a large percentage of the population can't seem to grasp that simple concept before digging deeper. Hell, read any keto thread on this board.
So yes, the main reason people lose weight is calories in vs calories out. Nothing in your post even addressed that.

Wait, I thought it was "No fricking shite"?

This is absolutely the best part for me.

Same here, usually wake up at 6:30-7:00, and after I chug a glass of water and sip some coffee I'm good to go. However for me around 10:30-11:00 no amount of water suppresses my hunger
But being able to destroy a good sized lunch/dinner makes it worth it.
