I thought insurance was supposed to spread the cost.
If you get cancer and insurers can exclude you or charge you out the a$$, then you die.
Obamacare was supposed to try to get everyone into the system.
Try getting insurance if you have had a heart attack and are not in a group - you can't.

So how does this plan allow for more people to be insured?
I thought that was a goal as well as free insurance for everyone. wasn't that the liberals goal?

Bull shite, health history has zero effect on insurance premiums or insurability, the only questions they can ask you are your age, and if you use tobacco

Pretty sure that's only if you're in a group if you're talking about HIPAA
Yeah, I just looked it up. You are wrong.

First one that has really negatively impacted my household budget. This year I have paid about 12k more in healthcare costs than prior, and we have been mostly healthy except for some back issues with my wife.. My premium is 6k of that, and out of pocket for the rest of the 6k. Not one dime of insurance reimbursement.
That's highway robbery..

No, has nothing to do with hippa, part of Obamacare is just that, premiums can not be affected because of health history, so they can no longer ask you health questions, several years ago you were rated based on your health and lots of people still fuss about this , but it is simply no longer true

I've got cancer, and have had no issues with coverage. Even started a new job and new insurance after diagnosis.

There is no way on god's green earth that I could spend 10k on healthcare without insurance.
I'd rather just pocket the 10k and come out of pocket the 2 times a year I get sick.
That will work so long as you don't have anything catastrophic happen like a major accident or you get stuck down with a major illness requiring hospitalization and/or surgery. If either of those happen, you're ruined.

I see what you're saying, but is that for all plans? That might just be for Obamacare plans from the marketplace but I don't know for sure.

wrong.
all you have to do is get married (major life changing event) which makes you immediately eligible for enrollment outside the normal enrollment period.
and you do not even need the opposite sex to pull it off these days; any guy friend would do as long as he is willing to be homosexual for a few months on paper

That sucks. My neighbor doesn't have health insurance bc he would rather pay the fine then pay what his premiums would be.
I only pay $350 a month for a family of 5. But that's through the hospital I work at.

I'm self employed, I've been royally fricked by Obamacare.

Mine went down $1000 for the year. No complaints.

But 20 million more people , who did not have coverage, now have it at YOUR EXPENSE. frick Hillary & all the democrats

I also love how the Obama admins spin this excuse as a reason to hike premiums ....for the 3rd year in a row... rather than do away with the system. Its your fault, idiot!
The definition of insanity...
17% hike in 2014, 27% in 2015, 30% in 2016 for the same plan with an ever increasing deductible. This'll cause it to go up until providers no longer participate.
