Agreed. I'm ok with giving people a chance to turn their life around in many circumstances, but if you have a documented history of multiple violent felonies just toss them in prison. Let them make us license plates the rest of their lives.

Honestly, you'd be surprised. There is no consistency in our justice/judicial system.
The piece of shite in Huntsville, AL who shot two officers, killing one, was out on bond for an attempted double homicide last year. While out on bond he was arrested for illegal possesion of a firearm. That should have revoked his bond for the previous felony charge, landing him in jail until his trial date.
Instead, the DA and judge plead the firearm charge down and the piece of shite was allowed to pay a fricking fine. He was out on the street and eventually wound up killing one cop and seriously wounding another.
The DA is a Republican. I didn't look up the judge, but in North AL, it isn't a risky bet that they, too, are a Republican. The whole fricking system is broken, top to bottom.
