A fight breaks out in a convenience store... shortly after Stone Cold Reggie Bush appears out of thin air to destroy everything that moves.

The students in the top left pretending to aim guns at the camera are Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the teens who would end up slaughtering their classmates just a few days later.
ironic yes, however those are not the shooters

Known as “The Honeymoon Dive,” the diver in the background of this photo is Tina Watson, lying on the ocean floor minutes after being murdered by her husband. As newlyweds, Gabe and Tina went on a scuba diving excursion in Australia. Just before this photograph was taken (by an unsuspecting friend of the diver posing in the foreground), Gabe was seen giving her what looked to be a bear hug. In reality, he was likely disabling her air regulator and holding her down until she lost consciousness. When he finally resurfaced for help, he swam leisurely back to the boat and calmly notified an instructor that his wife was experiencing difficulty. The diver swimming towards Tina in this photo is the instructor struggling to rescue her, but it was already too late. Back in America, Gabe Watson was acquitted of murder charges based on lack of evidence – and cashed in big due to Tina’s substantial life insurance policy, and the dangerous environment in which she perished.

Can you save someone from that? Say one of your friends hair stood up like that, could you tackle them and break the circuit?
I've seen that happen many times and no lightening has struck anywhere nearby.

Posted recently I think, but this is the photo the Rutgers student took of the bear that would maul and eat him moments later.
Edit: Ok...a photo of a bear isn't all that innocent I guess.

Your only chance is to squat as low as possible while standing on your tiptoes. Minimize contact with the ground so you can't complete a circuit.
common sense would say lay on your back

Jag fan is definitely the same kid in the photo. He grew up in Columbine before moving to Jacksonville. He did an AMA a while back.

These aren't necessarily a "something bad happens immediately after" type of situation, but still kinda fit with the theme of the thread.
This youngster would go on to lead a powerful regime in Germany in the 1930s.
