Indians (dot) and Middle East Muslims don't like each other?

I know UAE imports Indians for slave labor.
I know I recently fricked up at work with a guy from India and confused him for a Muslim and he was pretty offended.
So how do these two cultures view each other?

pakistan and india are known historical allies and great friends and have never gotten into religious disagreements with eachother

That is nothing, next time call him a Paki, Indians love that. I have an UK born Indian friend (actually the best man at my wedding) and the only time I have seen him pissed off in the 20 years I have known him was when an a-hole called him one. He is not the typical slight Indian (played loose head prop on the Rugby team at Uni) and it took three of us to hold him back.

Do you think your Indian coworker was upset because he thought you considered him Middle Eastern? Because that's not why he was upset. It's because they hate Pakistanis

Freedom at Midnight is legit one of the best books I’ve ever read.
It tells the story of the British lowering the Union Jack over the Raj in 1947-1948 and partitioning a new nation state on land occupied by Muslims and Hindus. The Muslims and Hindus couldn’t get along so the largest migration in human history occurs with Muslims and Hindus settling into a two state solution we know today as Israel and Palestine I mean Indian and Pakistan.
Except Pakistan at first was actually West Pakistan and East Pakistan and they fought regular wars and skirmishes with Israel I mean India.
The West Bank I mean West Pakistan was more prosperous and successful and functional than east Pakistan, and eventually the separation and differences between the two Palestines I mean Pakistans eventually led to Gaza I mean East Pakistan just becoming it’s entirely own thing and calling itself Bangladesh.

No, it was during Ramadan when a bunch of coworkers were fasting. And this coworker said he was starving, and I said oh you need to break fast and he took immediate exception to it to make sure I knew he wasn't a muslim, he was just hungry.

The Hindu Indians absolutely hate Muslims. I thought this was common knowledge. India has a substantial Muslim population that was the result of ancient Muslim conquests and the Hindus don't like them at all. They have lived together for centuries now, so tensions aren't that high, but the Hindus have to give the Muslims a smack down every now and then when they get out of line.

One of my best friends is an Indian Hindu who came here to study. We've discussed this for hours. He comes from a town where there were frequent riots. Monday evening he told me a story about his aunt throwing molotav cocktails at the moslem mob trying to break their door down. He hates Islam. I also know a Buddhist monk from Bangladesh (about 98% moslem). He sent me pictures of his teacher in Bangladesh (my friend was in Bangkok) who was murdered with an axe by moslems who wanted the land the Buddhist temple occupied. My Indian friend is expecting a Hindu-Moslem war in the near future.
