It’s not that, India has mostly arranged marriages. More marriages means more kids, the rest of the world marriage rates are dropping and producing less kids along with the rising cost of living. Indian women are also becoming liberalized and are rejected marriages like others in the west and Asia.

Is this a direct response to their realization that A.I. will be able to answer tech calls soon?

This will be terrible in the future from a purely economic sense. But damn I'm glad to see it happening. Too many damn people.

India is in late Stage 2 and transitioning to Stage 3 of the Demographic Transition Model. Population growth will continue, but the rate of growth will slow down.
Most of Europe, Japan, North Korea, and some Arab countries are in late Stage 4 and moving into Stage 5. These states have seen population stabilize or, in some cases, shrink. This also makes them ripe for immigration to fill labor needs.
Most of Africa is in late Stage 1 or early Stage 2. High birth rates, but high death rates in Stage 1 keeps population stable. The countries in Stage 2 are seeing population explosions.
