Without a prairie lawyer from Kentucky, a drunk from Ohio, and a psychopath from Ohio, there wouldn't be equal rights for all Americans in 2022. Let's here it for them:

I wonder what they’d think of the current state of the country if they could somehow be brought back for a day.

Come on now, by 2022 they would have equal rights but they got them a lot sooner with those three.

It's kind of like father's day but you don't need a father to celebrate it.

Lincoln and Davis both native Kentuckians.

If that doesn't sum us up I don't know what does.

And none of them ended it. That was done by the 13th amendment, ratified on December 6, 1865, the real date there should be a celebration.

I visited Gettysburg recently. The older I get the harder the civil war is for me to understand.

I get being against slavery and wanting it to end. I get wanting to preserve your economic system from being destroyed. What I don’t get is that in order to resolve this conflict hundreds of thousands of young men were quick to grab a gun and slowly march shoulder to shoulder into an oncoming stream of bullets, cannon fire, bayonets, and swords where there was about a 20% chance of painful death. If you didn’t die there’s a good chance you would need an amputation of some sort.

The only way I can rationalize it is that men were just different creatures back then. They lived differently, thought differently, felt differently. I don’t understand their thinking because I’m just not them.

Power of propaganda. It's even more nuts when you realize most people in the south didn't even own slaves. Wealthy plantation owners and politicians drove us over a cliff
