As we all know, most jobs do not require nearly 8 hours a day.
You start working the math out and theres a lot of fat.
I don't disagree with this at all. I wouldn't mind a four day work week.
We had people years ago in our office do the 4 10s for a while to have four day work weeks. Longer work days sucked, but they enjoyed their three day weekends.

Yea man. That's an IT exclusive thing. Jesus christ lol
I dont know what you do for a living but an IT situation that needs to be handled is usually pretty urgent as compared to other jobs as IT affects literally everyone in the company.

Sounds like the company hasn't been doing well financially and is looking to have some folks leave willingly instead of having to do layoffs.

If you can’t determine if the position is productive or not why have the position?

That question was a response to the following pointed post. I didn't just ask how one would measure an employee's productiveness. I'm tired of arguing with dipshits on here. Act like you have a fricking brain. Quite the fail on the gotcha message board bullshite. Again, keep trying to find one little item to focus on.. maybe next time you'll get it right. Don't worry about responding.. I don't care what you have to say about anything.
Radio? You're a dumbass.
And don't forget to keep downvoting me. I can't tell you how much that hurts my feelings. Hope it brings you good feelings inside. Notice I don't downvote your posts because I'm not a dork.

Why just IT jobs
I'm in IT. I get called at all hours of the night, weekends, holidays, and vacation days, and I've had to work 14 hours on a sick day where I could barely hold my head up due to the medication I was taking. If you want me to work in the office, that's fine. I'll be there like a good boy 8 to 5. When I leave, my computer is staying in the office and I'll be unavailable when I'm home. I'll happily separate my time from the company's time. My preference is to work from home and remain committed to a five 9's uptime, but if the company only wants us working from the office, only from the office we will work.
Afterhours work isn't exclusive requirement for IT workers, but companies with blanket policies will have a tough time putting putting this toothpaste back in the tube.

Bitching about productivity while posting one of nearly 27,000 posts on tRant at 2 p.m. on a work day.
Ironic.

It's a dead giveaway that this thread is another BT troll attempt. Either that or his tag team e-mail indicates his company is full of retards that need constant supervision anyways.

I worked from home for a great director for 5 years at the end of my career. I spent the time not driving for a total of nearly 2 hours each day by helping others in my group with their increased workloads or training new peeps. I could handle my assignments with speed and efficiency in normal business hours. Got rewarded via bonuses and recognition and I was basically a happy camper working on some special projects as well.
WFH was perfect for me.

First time here? I don’t care either way (personally can’t stand WFH) but you do what the mother fricker says do or find another job.

Some of our people are returning on a hybrid basis if they live near an office.
