By some total fluke in late November of 1969 my infantry battalion in Viet Nam was moved to a rear area combat base for about 6 weeks to provide security. We were able to live above ground, it was relatively secure, we got hot food, electricity, music, and had running water (and beer). I still remember singing Silent Night then. But, that was not the best. It was only second best. The best was the next Christmas with my family.

My older brother got me a Super Nintendo and I had no clue it was coming.
Looking at it right now in fact...hooked up and ready to roll.

Nintendo Xmas 1986 or 87. I got to open it Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. When I got home I played Super Mario bros until 2:30am.

Some shite when I was a kid I’m sure. A few years back my buddy gave me some 60’s playboy magazines. Those were cool.

A baseball and a glove from my Foster Dad when I was 15.
It was my first Christmas outside of the group home, which doesn't do presents on Christmas morning or anything. Opening that reminded me what it was like to be a kid that has someone who gives a shite about you. I was so damn happy.
lost the ball, still have the glove,

The best Christmas gift I ever received was given to me my first Christmas at only eight months of age. My parents brought me home from the adoption agency on December 21st and the life, love, and family they have provided for me is without doubt, the best Christmas gift I have ever received.
Awesome.
Mine was Sega Genesis. Especially when I knew how much it cost and how little we had at the time...
Until we brought my second child home on Christmas Day 6 years ago.
