There is a south side and a north side if that’s your point. There’s nothing as ghetto as Nola or BR if that’s what you’re getting at.

Better than Nola

When one thinks Monroe, La is better than New Orleans, La (and considering I am Nola through and through…and deploying safety changes given its out of control thugs and criminal justice)…

Might be reflection time on your soul, how short life is, and why you are on this Earth. Good Lord.

The Daily Press is right there, if you want something quick and good.

I love the Olive Garden, but its been a while since I have been there.

Warehouse #1 is great.

Trapps in West Monroe

Catfish Charlie's

Danken Trail BBQ

Daq's Wings & Grille

Magic Grill

Copelands

Outback Steakhouse

Logans Steak

BTW, stay the heck away from anything south of I-20

Damn fine place in the early 90s growing up. I haven’t lived in the East Side in 25 years, but could still drive those once back roads blindfolded to this day.

I lived/worked there for about ten years and enjoyed it. I actually worked around the airport and lived in west Monroe. There are good restaurants if you check with the locals. Stellar public hunting and fishing within 15 minutes of town. There are a couple of decent universities within the area that keep the economy going. Absolutely no traffic to bother you on your commute to work.

All of Danken Trail’s meats are done better than Podnah’s but the baked beans are inferior. ;)

In Monroe for a job

Congratulations baw...not many people find a job there, especially South of the interstate or at the mall. You should try Big Mamma's Fine Foods on S 2nd street if you wind up down there. Don Chuy's where the old Duck Diner was is the best of the 50 Mexican eating places in the parish. Latin foods on Thomas Rd by the paper mill is good too but both of these will require you to cross the river where whitey from the WM Rebels is gonna profile you. Don't forget Johnny's Pizza if you get too much PeGe

Warehouse and Cotton's are delicious. Doe's is some FINE steak and whiskey. A little more upscale.

Mohawk is a local legend. Been there since the '50s or so. Great.

Trapp's, Parish, and Waterfront are all really good.

They got sonics for checking knuckles, too.
