In general I have no fear of spiders, but this is a real reason NOT to live in Australia

I give you the Huntsman spider which grows to 1 foot long. It is occasionally found hiding and living in houses with people.

Nope nope nope

Unless you're a mouse as pictured I hear those things are actually pretty harmless.

These things can't kill you though. The size of their fangs would hurt like a bitch but their venom isn't deadly to humans.

and another reason to add to your reason: (also from Australia)

Fox News: Huntsman Spider

quote:

Huntsman spiders, which can grow nearly 1 foot in length, generally live in Australia, Africa and other temperate climates, according to a 2003 study.

I have a fear of being surprised by a spider. If I see it...I'm good with it.

I’m not kidding when I say this. If I were convicted of a crime, and the judge told me I have a choice to spend one year at Angola prison or one year in the finest mansion and nicest neighborhood in Australia, I would have to really think about it.
Everything horrifying lives in Australia. Most poisonous insects, snakes and deadliest everything else.
