if you can't handle making professional looking pivot tables or graphs in excel or using powerpoint you need to put in your resignation now

All of that is well and good but until I have real work to do it’s hard to sometimes apply those teachings.
It’s seems like it’s practice and learn the basics or nothing

If you don’t have anyone to train you then reach out to any friends you may have in programming or data science.

Worst case, google for solutions and use Reddit and Stack Overflow.
This is how everyone learns.

So this is what the nerds do while I am out with clients on the golf course and fishing and hunting trips? That career sounds boring and miserable.

Just blow her back out on the back of a boat and forget all this other stuff.

I can do it. Just not insanely quickly, yet. It’s also a state job not a financial data analyst role for a Fortune 500 company.

I.e., they generally know what they’re [not] getting.

Do what all the other “Excel Wizards” do at offices. Spend some time and make a template. Then pretty much use that template for everything going forward.

People will think you absolutely amazing, when all you are doing is using the same thing over and over.

AI will replace your position in five years unless you become a data architect who runs the AI.

Define being able to use excel.

Let’s see your insane nested formula skills using 15 different formulas, and your developer tab skills.

Lol and here I thought I was waiting a while at 3 weeks for a job to be created and the offer to be made

And now I'm working on my own business and I don't even know if I should take the offer because I kinda like only working 3 days a week

If you are scared, buy a dog. Onward and up. Have faith in yourself. I had to take a lot of jobs that I didn't feel that I was quite ready for. But I knew that most times, I was one of the smartest guys in the room. The cream always rises to the top. Challenge yourself to get better at every opportunity.

that I won't be able to do it, and that maybe I gave off the impression in the interview that I was better at Excel than I really am.

You can fake it till you make it as you can google/youtube/simulate just about anything in Excel from the rows/columns/cells/math formulas etc. Hell you can even AI it. Stop being a little bitch, roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Actually, what you want to do is skip a generation forward and learn PowerBI.

It will allow you to build tools to do your data analysis. From a data perspective it’s really quite good.
