I suggest your wife, for community property reasons.

But I'm sticking with my original plan:
1. Grab bicycle, water, and canned goods from house, drive to nearest Greyhound stop in my car which is down the street (5 minutes)
2. Buy ticket and put fully charged iphone in the luggage area with a bag of some sort. (5 minutes)
3. Take my bicycle out of my car and ride it in opposite direction of bus route as hard and fast as I can for 40 minutes into a new construction neighborhood I know about. (40 minutes)
4. Break in and hide in the attic (10 minutes)
I would probably get caught, but this is best I could do I think. If I was in New Orleans, the above ground tomb is the way I'd go.
ETA:
And I'd wear this while riding my bike

It took five days for authorities to find the Boston bombers.

They had a much bigger head start than an hour. The public didn't know who they were for days.

NO. His love of seamen DQs him.
I have not read but about 7% of the thread. From what I did read, most folks are pretty out of touch. It would be almost impossible to pull off. Esp. for the average Joe. (Granted, almost NO ONE here is average...but still)

Don't tell TD & Reddit that.

I think even the best laid plans here, people have a 10% chance at best of evading capture.

I cant speak for everyone, but I realize its pretty improbable, but its sort of fun to try and conjure up a good plan.

I'd spend the hour head start trying to figure out a way to initiate an electromagnetic pulse that would knock everything off the grid.
Then walk around like a boss in a small town for 5 days.
If I can't get the EMP, well then I'm caught anyway.

That was one thought I had. Is there anything smart about the strategy of maybe getting on offense a little bit? Maybe as soon as you get the notice that you have an hour, steal a car and somehow ram it (jumping out beforehand) into a power substation, police hq, or something. May not be the best strategy but at least it would provide some initial disruption in your local area.

Yeah, I had thought of an EMP as well, but having access to something like that in under an hour is about as farfetched as my silly submarine joke.
