OK, then throw out the hitchhiking. From my office, it's about a 20-30 minute drive to the first exit in the basin. What if I pack my duffel bag, drive to the basin, exit and drive my car down one of the back dirt roads, ditch my car in the woods and camouflage as best I can. I could do this in an hour.

And the dogs will find you within 2. If you have a car made within the past 10 years, then there's likely some sort of GPS in your car. You want to ditch your personal car and then find some other means of transportation like a bike that can't be effectively tracked.

The notion that everybody, even in your regional location, is actively searching for you is retarded. In reality, government agents and agencies would be hunting you and the general population would be vigilantly alert and ready to identify you if you come across their path, but that's it.

This whole premise is retarded. But it is distracting me from work so I am considering it. EVERY PERSON IN THE WORLD is united in looking for you. Meaning everything shuts down and every resource on the planet is used to find you. This wouldn't be necessary as the population in North America is more than enough people. They could be brought to your area within 24 hours. The greatest technology, greatest minds in finding missing people, greatest everything in the world would be there in less than 8 hours though, all the while every unchecked train, plane, and automobile is kept from moving another inch. No form of transportation works because it just zeroes everyone in. Misdirection doesn't work due to millions of people to follow every path. In 1 hour, there is nowhere anyone can go that will allow them to stay out of sight for 5 days. Plain sight is the only legitimate answer and it still has a .0001% chance of working.

I'd sink the car though and you'd have a better chance IMO.

I thought about that, but was thinking that there may be people at the boat landing that would see me. If no one was at the landing, that's the best option for sure. Just drive it into the boat launch. But if there is anyone at landing, I'm thinking there are a bunch of dirt roads leading to nowhere, and would have to ditch it that way.

Once they figured out your vehicle, they would be able to track you with traffic cams.

Dont need one if you are already in the area. Hell you got an hour. This plan doesnt involved much.

My plan, using my resemblance to Brian McCann:

Kill Brian McCann and hide his body. Be kidnapped by someone who mistakes me for Brian McCann. He holds me hostage somewhere for 5 days demanding ransom. No one gives a shite about Brian McCann during that period of time, cause everyone's looking for me.

Its moot, he is not building a bomb, a dead man trigger, creating an effective disguise and getting to a bank vault in under an hour in a way that doesn't connect to his true identity.

I'd have my hands full for sure.

Interesting theory. My doppelganger wouldn't work because no one wants to kidnap Rob Thomas.

but in your case, if they give up after the first one, then why dont I just hop on a greyhound myself as a 6th phone and take the cross country trip for 7 days?

Because they aren't going to give up, they are going to find them all very quickly and dedicate virtually no manpower in the process. It's just a pointless endeavor on your part.

Traffic cams. They would know which exit you took, greatly limiting their search area.

I'm not familiar with traffic cam details, but not sure if they have cameras all along the I-10 and at each exit. Look, if like someone else said, every car has a GPS lock on them, and there are cameras all along interstate, then yeah, I'm probably screwed. But I will say this, it would still have to take some time for them to go through all the camera footage, and by the time they realized where I ditched car, the basin is huge and it would not give them a lot of time to track me.

One more thing I need clarified, what time of the year is this happening? If its happening around now, I could hid out in some seldom used grain bins. I could get to them on foot and theyd do a pretty good job of hiding me on infrared and masking my scent.

If your starting position is near the aboveground graves, they would check that quickly. If, however, your starting position is not near the graves and you can get there without being seen, sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

Leaders:
1. hiding in random attic
2. hiding in graves
3. stealing submarine

Yeah, but here's the thing:

You have to come up with a new plan now, cause you've posted yours on the OT and the first thing they'd do is search your internet history. Then they'd know where you were going.

So would the best possible option be dress in complete Scent Blocking technology before embarking on whatever destination you pick? How well does that stuff work?

I was thinking more a long the lines of how escaped convicts get dogs to lose their scent trails. If I could do that and get to my caves and mines I think I could be okay.

The other problem would be getting there without leaving a clue as to the general area I'm in. The only places I could abandon a vehicle without it being suspect are far enough away that it would be difficult to get there on foot in the remaining hour

But if your car has any GPS capabilities whatsoever, then they could still be by your car within the hour of them being alerted. You wouldn't get too far when they called in the helicopters.

Well if there's a money reward then it would probably have some sort of sign up papers.

I'd fill out the forms under the name Lennay Kekua and provide this picture for worldwide distribution.
