I'm actually working at home right now. I'm here alone with my guns, a four wheel drive car with a full tank of gas, and plenty of things to use as a disguise. I think this is an advantage....but I'm also in an area with busy body police force. I'd have to be gone within an hour.
That being said. I think the important thing is to leave town and leave clues that lead in the other direction, and never tip off law enforcement.
I think the Boston Bomber suspects would have remained gone for for another couple of days had they not let that carjacking victim go. I think leaving or having no witnesses to deal with is critical.
IMHO, I think I'd get off to a great start but I'd be surprised if I made it longer than 3 days. It's incredibly hard to be mobile when everyone in the world is looking for you. You'd basically have to find a few killer hiding spots and hope they remain undetected.

Unless you use a form of transportation other than a car you don't have a chance. People know where you are right now. Realistically within an hour you couldn't go more than 100 miles from where you are by car. With everybody looking for you, a 100 mile radius could be thoroughly searched within 5 days.

Because your plan stupidly relies on hitchhiking. The guy who picked you up and let you off would know and tip off authorities.
Right. Ok, let me randomly make something up to fit my side....

I think I'm starting to figure out how this thread works.

Obviously not. If you would have read my first post mentioning the sewers, you would see i said i have no idea if they are as shown in the movies.

I really can't think of how it could go wrong unless they didn't really love their kids
I agree. Thats why I said it several pages ago as well.
BUT I don't know if them knowing where you are makes you lose. Even if they couldn't tell anyone.

and I'm sticking with my kidnap a family idea

No, bm. I'm sure everyone would be caught, with you in charge.

Gotcha, didnt see that.
In large cities that have subways, the sewers are probably ore elaborate, but for most of the world its just slopped pipes with shite in them.

They already saw you. Thats game over

I'm going to the attic of a random vacant home. If everyone has Billion dollar manhunt fever, no one is looking at houses for those five days.
Might be the best shot - if you could combine it with the strap your phone to a bus to throw them off idea, you might be able to win.

What if you kill the person who sees you?
Do you still lose?
Do you still lose?

A lot of people are going with "get to NYC and become a homeless bum"
which would be a great idea...but for those living over an hour from New York (esp most posters here in the south) how the hell do you get to NYC without being caught with an hour headstart?
I like the UPS idea but impossible that you can ship a human somewhere without raising suspicions.
the NOLA grave idea is good as well, but can thermal sensors get through that concrete?
Honestly the best idea and most plausible so far is the attic of a vacant or old-person's house, about an hour away from where you live.
The marina in the winter is a good one too.
I mean, they found Saddam in a literal HOLE in the ground so your chances are pretty slim overall.
The thing you have going for you is the 5 day period...it seems like a cave would be a good place to go if you have that option as well.

plus the sewers will immediately be searched and there's no getting away when you hear them coming

With your idea of hitchhiking and hoping that the guy doesn't recognize you once the APB goes out, my 4yo niece could find you.

what it would mean if 7 billion people were all focused on finding you.
If we are constrained by reality when coming up with a plan, than the other side needs to be constrained by the reality that not everyone in the world would be able to do much. How many children are there in this world? Hell, how many of the billion plus chinese people could even get to where you are in 5 days?
Even in the unrealistic scenario that in one hour, every person on Earth would turn into a man hunting robot, 80% of the world's population would be constrained by physics, logistics, etc.

Solid idea....especially if you can ditch your automobile at the airport or keep it way out of sight.
An hour can give you just enough time to find supplies if you live close enough.
