Hoping that someone with a medical background can chime in on this...

If the difference between surviving Covid-19 with minimal symptoms or dying from it is basically your immune system, why don't we hear more about ways to improve it?

Since the outbreak began, the message I've gotten from the powers that be is: social distance, wash your hands, don't touch your face. Nothing on immune system health.

Is it simply that there's really not that much you can do to improve your immune system quickly enough for this particular virus?

it's not like you're going to boost your immune system to mega virus fighting levels in a couple of weeks.

If you're an unhealthy slob your immune system will reflect that

At this point immunity is largely congenital. Some people never get sick. Some people get sick all the damn time.

But within 50 years medicine will likely have advanced to the point pandemics like this wont happen

This mainly.

But load up on vitamin D, vitamin C, and zinc. And get your daily value of iron and magnesium.

Those are the things I've seen repeated as important to not be deficient in when you have COVID.

Good to know.

I understand that loading up on those vitamins & minerals you mentioned might be too late for some people, but if it even makes a small difference, you'd think you'd hear more about it on TV.
