what would it be like in America if attorneys didn't exist. let's say that the judges were not attorneys and you represented yourself.

I know that there's quite a bit of stuff that would be different in my day to day life if attorneys didn't exist.

what you think? would it be different in your daily life if they didn't? if so......how?

I'd rather imagine an OT Lounge without your threads.

I'm not a lawyer, but give this more than 10 seconds of thought then put the bowl down.

So just judges and justices would interpret the law and we'd have no other experts studying the subject?Even more corrupt than the judicial system is now.

Steve Avery would still be in jail because he definitely murdered Teresa Halbach

They have countries with no attorneys in the sense that you are speaking of at least

Many would love it there, go try them out

So, basically mob rule?

Yeah - attorneys get a bad rap, but they are the bulwark between a civil society and solving problems by "taking it outside" (or worse, pistols at dawn).

I think he means a system where laws are clear enough to not require interpretation. Where average citizens could decipher their meaning, since they are the people supposedly served by those laws.

lawyers get a bad rap... i think it's just like any other profession... a majority of attorneys are good, but there are some shitheads out there, just like other professions....

but to lump all of them together as "bad", per se, is incorrect, and biased...

I'm not sure you've really thought this thread out, Charles. Do that and get back to us. Or better yet, don't.

sorta. what I really would like to know is how it would affect your daily life. for instance........I have to wear this ridiculously hot set of coveralls that are fire retardant because I'm fairly certain that companies got sued.

I can think of quiet a bit of shite that I have to do on a daily basis because of lawsuits.

this is not a thread to give them a bad wrap. I get what they have to do on a daily basis. what I'm looking for are answers as to how would this world be different without all the lawsuits that have occurred and are occurring daily.

I'd rather imagine our country with torte reform. Make frivolous law suits go away. If the plaintiff and their legal counsel are responsible for all court costs when they loose a case then I'll be happy.

Never mind, I thought you were pointing out the absurdity that we all except as normal. You were really just tired of wearing coveralls. I gave you to much credit, my bad. Go on bitching about whatever....

Darvacet drug would be available. My mother is perfect for darvacet, but because not everyone is perfect for darvacet the lawyers took it off the market and lawyers make my moms life suffer.
