Just saw a commercial for the MTV road rules/real world challenges. I no longer know any of the Vets in the challenge. Am I old?

I remember when pop music based shows on TV were "American Bandstand" nationally televised with Dick Clark, "The John Pela Show" locally televised in N.O. and the multitude of variety shows that were music based.

Long, long before MTV was even thought about. Guess that makes me ancient.

I was a sophomore in high school (1980) when my friend told me in science class, “there”s a channel on cable tv that plays nothing but rock concert clips. You need to come over and check it out.” No way in heck my parents were paying for cable.

I remember we went to Destin one summer and stayed inside watching it most of the time because Louisiana didn’t have it yet and we had never seen it.

Kit was on the first season of Road Rules - cute girl and seemed like lots of fun. I also remember her hosting some pointless, idiotic morning show on ESPN2 back in the late 90s - called “Cold Pizza” or some shite like that.
