A lot of fun if trained to pull a cart. Spend hands-on time as much as possible. Make sure to teach him to pick up his feet so the farrier doesn't reject you as a client. They are manure-producing machines so have enough land to offer room to stand in something other than his own crap. Feed little to no grain to offset their tendency towards obesity. Neglect, abuse or ignore them and you will have interesting knots and bruises from well-placed kicks to your lower leg.

FYI: there poop is easier to cleanup a few days after they poop. Per the song "mini horses's poo is dusty..."

I need to rethink this

When I had just two (mini horses), they generated a wheelbarrel full of manure every three days. That's a lot of poop. Now that I have four (how did that happen???) I simply cannot keep up.

Can I recommend the pot belly pig, perhaps the screaming goat, or the miniature giraffe...

When people tell you not to get one because they are mean, listen. They are all mean

Being a four legged midget can turn anyone into an a-hole.

If you name it it's a pet. Not livestock. Good fertilizer for the flowers.
