Cayennes are nice, a little bigger and over $100k. Too pricey. You can get the Macan for $50-55k. Macan Turbo is around $70k.
BS.
The Cayenne Turbo is over $100k. The other Cayenne models are not.
The Macan Turbo STARTS at $72300 and properly optioned out easily approaches $90k or more. The Macan S properly sorted out is going to be $65k or more.
Great vehicles but let's not understate the price on these. The used market on Macans is still very thin.

2015 Durango RT with the V8, it's in your price range, has all of the technology and luxury with 3 rows of seats.
And goes zoom zoom with that Hemi sound while looking kick arse

I've looked at:
2015 Mercedes GLK350
2015 Acura RDX and MDX (Tech Package in both)
2014 Lexus RX350
2014 Infiniti QX60
2015 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection
I'd say Cadillac, then acura, then lexus as far as ranking the masculinity (or lack there of)...
maybe think ford explorer... but hard to stay small SUV and keep your balls as well.

Looks pretty badass, especially that V8 but 14mpg? fricking ouch.
I don't haul anything.

Be sure to look at the Subaru Outback. I bought one 3 months ago for the fiancé & she loves it. Loaded to the gills, thing will almost drive itself with the eyesight technology. It is American made as well, Indiana I think. My insurance company liked it as well, my premium went down when I purchased it.

I paid $71k for our Macan Turbo.

Then it's a base model. Good for you but there are options I wouldn't consider missing on if I bought new.
Unless you bought it used. Then I could see it at that price.

Used. I lucked out and had to jump on it, as you said, there is hardly a used market for macans

She drives an extremely old at this point Toyota Camry with like 150k miles on it. We are going to be giving it/selling it to her little brother.
I drive a 2012 Nissan Maxima, which I really love to be honest, which we also got CPO in 2013. But she insists that I have the newest vehicle every time. And she wants us to have an SUV for carrying things and future kids (we are working on it) and etc, so I will probably be the primary driver.
We actually paid the Maxima off completely so this will be our only note.

Durango's are some terrible looking vehicles now-a-days. I liked the look 10 years ago.

Also check out the 2016 Mazda CX-5, they are cheap ($30k fully loaded) and look nice/luxury.

Yeah, I saw a new Mazda on the road and it looked nice.
