Be sure to look at the Subaru Outback. I bought one 3 months ago for the fiancé & she loves it. Loaded to the gills, thing will almost drive itself with the eyesight technology. It is American made as well, Indiana I think. My insurance company liked it as well, my premium went down when I purchased it.

All the Outbacks are made a couple miles from my house - help keep my friends at work.

I've got an Outback, not so loaded, and really like it. You can also look at the Forester, about the same size overall, but arranged a little different internally.

Threadjack -- Cwar11 - how do you like the Eyesight? I thought about it when I bought mine, but it was still too new for me to be comfortable with it then (a couple of years ago).

I guess I just don't see why anyone would go for a Durango over a JGC. The JGC is beautiful. I guess I'm learning from this thread that the third row option isn't available in tJGC, but who honestly uses the third row that isn't a soccer mom? No adult is going back there and sitting your kid back there only ensures their demise should you be rear ended.

I think both the Durango and JGC look great.

The 3rd row disappears and gives you a huge amount of storage space. A good deal more than the JGC. Bonus is the Durango can tow 7,500 lbs.

But the SRT8 JGC is the tits if you only have 2 kids and don't need the cargo space. But it carries a 75k price tag

That pic does not tell the whole story. The back half of a Durango is the worst part.

Yeah, the back of the Durango is what gets me. I'm assuming they have different specs judging by the third row option?

I didn't know till today, but that explains why the Durango has such an odd looking tail end. I thought the tail lamp was what made the Durango look so oddly proportioned and tall, but I guess it's not.

The only one I would add to your list is the BMW X3.

That said, the SRX is the most vehicle for the money. (safety, features, UI, etc.)

CPO cars are now off the charts on price. I'd buy new in this segment, especially given your budget.

Yeah when I tried to find a picture, I didn't notice what bothers me about them. I guess it's just an IRL thing. They seem disperportionatly tall compared to their width with the way the taillight cuts through the center of the car.

I still don't think they look bad, that one feature just bothers me(and I love tJGC).

I just say no to "SUVs/Crossovers", but if I weren't so smart I'd probably look at the Volvo XCs or the VW Touareg.

If third row seating is not necessary grand Cherokee > Durango. I have a new Durango because we have 3 kids so third row was a must. No problems with anything and love it so far.

There's a Jeep dealership not too far from where I was for lunch, so I went and looked at a Jeep GC Limited, fully loaded up. Man, that is nice. A lot nicer than I expected.

tokenboiler- love the eyesight technology, its really a fancy cruise control for now but I can see in the future being able just to enter your destination & this car taking you there. On trips it's super nice no need to break or accelerate just set the eyesight & go. Glad I got it, and I will buy another Subaru in the future, my daughter will be driving in 3 years so she will be getting a Subaru as well (very safe vehicles) you are basically in a roll cage.

the Accura and the Pilot.. (find another accura dealer),

unless you just want to throw a few thousand more away for no reason on a Lexus or Benz.

OMFG,, talk about going from top of the line to crap.. buy yourself an expedition or explorer before you get stranded by a jeep crap.
