2 guys sitting at the pump one day. I was trapped pumping my gas and they start telling me they work for CBI and need gas money to get to work in Grosse Tete. Some of their stories just make no sense. But a woman gave them $10

I had the "I'm traveling from Houston...have a job at some plant I forget which one...said he just needed enough gas to make it to around New Orleans..best part was bragging about the 'new job' that paid $35 an/hr

all such a joke.

claims to be pregnant and homeless.

Guy came into the restaurant I was working at and claimed that he had a pregnant wife in the car who hadn't eaten in days. He asked for free food to go (because she was too embarrassed to come inside) or cash if that was easier.

I told him no.

He came back a year later, same story. "Holy shite! She's still pregnant? Or did you knock her up again?"

I'm amazed at how coordinated the panhandlers are at the College Drive off ramp at I-10. I take that exit to go home every day from work, and every single day there is one panhandler there, begging money from cars. They never miss a single day. If this was a work crew, they would be the most reliable work crew I've ever seen. And here's the amazing thing. It's always a different hobo. It's almost never the same guy (or gal) twice. It's a different motherfricker pretty much every day. What is there, some sort of website telling these people where to beg in Baton Rouge, where they can sign up for certain days or some shite? They've worn a little path in the grass from walking up and down the off ramp. It's ridiculous.

I cannot describe how accurate of a paragraph this is. It is always someone different. They have to have some sort of pimp or "master" so to speak pulling the strings. These people are the fricking worst. Actually, the idiots who buy into their scams are even more worse. How people are that dumb truly amazes me.

Flip the script. Ask them for money.

I usually do this and they get pissed.

Best response:

"Oh you real funny huh bruh"

"Life's a bitch.......dawg."

Thankfully, with a freshly shaved head, a beard, and some sunglasses they typically GTFO pretty quickly.

the shell on State was the worst. Almost every time I'd get hit up by some piece of crap with a bullshite sob story. For the record, I give someone in need help, but these were the worst kind of drunks trying to get another tall boy.. you know, coming up and bothering you when you had to pump gas, asking you for fricking rides to their house. Really over the line, the only times I've ever had to yell at them to frick off.

I actually had a guy in a pick up roll down his window and ask me for gas $$ in the middle of an intersection.

My biggest problem in the Ruston Walmart Supercenter parking lot is the dumb-arses that go the wrong way in one way lanes. Even though 90% of the lanes are one way, you have to look both ways when you back out of your spot.

It is an equal opportunity infraction that is committed regularly by Tech students, Grambling students, old ladies, high school coeds, guys in pickups and guys rolling in their Caprice on their 22's.

Nobody here stops at stop signs either.

I did buy a really skinny guy on college a caniac with a coke. As I'm handing it to him, he starts giving me some sob story about how he was thrown out of this hotel and all of his stuff is in there and he needs cash.

I slapped the caniac upward out of his hands and grabbed the coke back.

Idk if I've ever seen anyone so surprised.

I drive lee/college/corporate everyday and have seen all the beggars mentioned here but I never give them cash, or anything for that matter. I'm usually good about saying no when approached too.

Last time I got "got" was the Shell at Highland and Lee on Christmas Eve. Guy approaches me because he needed gas money to get to Port Allen told me he had job and showed me his company ID but blew all his money at the casino the night before (probably a lie, but whatever). I told him I didn't carry cash but said I'd put some fuel in his tank for him...he was very appreciative and I walked over swiped my card and decided to be nice and told him just to fill it all the way up (gas was cheap, so I figured no biggie). I walked away, got in my truck and left...didn't think much of it until I checked my credit card statement. Dude somehow spent $42 filling up an early 2000's Camry...not sure how he managed to get me or what he got, but I know damn well that car doesn't have larger than a 18 gal tank, shouldn't have been more than $30 to fill. He offered for me to watch him fuel up too, should have done that...so I guess lesson learned on my part

That's just it. Someone who is legitimately a decent person in a tight spot isn't dressed in rags looking homeless. I sometimes wonder why the people with the elaborate "I just need money to get gas and go ___" don't dress nicely. Not the bums on street corners, but the people who scam others and then later get into a nice car. I feel like people would be 10x more likely to help out a well-off woman who just "forgot her wallet at home" than they would to give money to someone who looks like a bum.

I could probably go to a gas station right now in my work attire and get more people to give me money than a bum trying at the same gas station.

I like throw a handful of knockouts (from electrical boxes) on the ground by their feet.

They are about the size of quarters and while they are distracted I do a burnout.

I once had a guy come to me inside the Albertsons on South Foster holding a box of cereal asking me to buy it for him.

2. I'm on my way home after working my arse off.

I snapped and was way too mean to one a couple years ago. I was working a double in a restaurant, which was normally early morning until ~3pm and then 5pm until ~11pm.. so you get a little break. But it was a day where we were slammed so I was at work the entire way through without a chance to go home and power nap or anything. Right before the 5pm shift started, I was able to sneak away from work and walk to the Circle K next door for a Red Bull. I was fuming because I really needed a break and was starving. A bum out of nowhere asks me for money and gets angry when I say no.

I went INSANE. I had just worked my arse off for the cash in my hand and I was not about to give any of it away to someone sitting in front of a gas station asking for money.

Has anyone mentioned the white guy at the Siegen light off the interstate? Last week he would wait for cars to line up at the light and then walk past all of them holding a sign. Once he passed all of them without getting a dime he'd go back and stand at the light texting on an iphone with a lime green case. As soon as those cars left he put his phone away and waited for the next traffic backup to make his rounds again.
