Just spent the week there, and now I understand why some people hate standard time. The sunset time was 4:30pm, and with all the skyscrapers, it was dark outside at 4pm. By 9pm, you think it’s midnight.

Granted, a few years ago I was in south Utah during the summer. It was still light outside at 10pm.

DST works perfect here in Louisiana, but I now understand the hate.

If only they'd put up a trillion lights around the city to help them out.

I went to Dublin in May and it never got fully dark, pretty much daylight all day. Drove me about insane. I can do 5PM dark easily.

I don’t like it here in Louisiana either.

Try being in Maine which is almost another time zone to the east from NY but is still in the eastern time zone.

We went up there for Thanksgiving week a couple of years ago and by 4pm, it had been dark for a good while.

In the western part of the eastern time zone it will be daylight until almost 10pm during DST in the summer too.

I love 5pm sunset. It automatically makes me feel like I kicked arse at work if I’m leaving when it’s dark out. I’d rather get that sensation by leaving at 5 than 9.

It’s usually light until almost 10 in the summer here in Michigan. Kind of messes with people from out of state.

frick standard time. Sun sets here in KY about 530 EST right now. It blows. Make daylight savings time permanent. Who cares if it's daylight out on your morning commute. Dumbest shite I've ever heard.

I think we need more govt programs to try and solve this sunlight decay in the fall/winter time. If we can just get the sun to give out the same amount of daylight every day throughout the year, that would be nice. Come'on Dems lets make it happen.
