to get Wendy's for breakfast in the Atlanta airport yesterday and the damn card reader device asked how much of a tip I wanted to leave. This tipping shite is getting out of hand if we're expected to tip fast food workers nowadays.
Is a couple bucks going to ruin your day? I tip well because I'm damn proud of these little zoomers working. That's a damn super power in that group.

Just a little statistical analysis of this thread.
Currently, the OP had 376 votes.
352 upvotes (93.6%)
24 downvotes (6.4%)
I think if 93.6% of people agree this tipping bullshite has gotten out of hand, that maybe the 6.4% should begin evaluating themselves.
My estimation is that this small group is composed of losers working minimum wage jobs hoping to pocket tips for themselves.

Or I get more satisfaction giving $2 more than not, and it's not enough money to worry.
I appreciate these kids working.

Most people are dumb. Citing popular opinion isn't the win you think.

Why should I (or anyone) else "evaluate" themselves because of this thread?
You and most who have agreed with you in this thread give off the fat, grumpy middle aged man vibe, which is fairly typical of the OT. What's more, as has been pointed out to you on numerous occasions in this thread, the way to deal with the tipping thing is simply not to tip. But you can't let go of that anger.
I take it as a point of pride to not be associated with people like you.

I'm glad you take rejection as a positive, because most normal people don't want anything to do with shitbird liberals. You aren't wanted around.

Rejection? What the hell are you talking about?
Oh, you're one of those too. I'm shocked.

How do you figure? The company isn't losing out by him not tipping.

It really isn't about the couple of bucks. Fast food workers make a wage. if they deserve more, it is up to the boss to pay them more or for them to find a job that pays them more. It's not my job to supplement their hourly wage.
But...the issue in this thread is why people have turned this into an issue. Just do what you've always done. That's it, that's all you have to do. And you don't even have to be mad, it's such a crazy concept.
You wanna tip every time the tip line shows up? Cool, go for it. You want to do what you always have done and not tip fast food workers? Don't, there is nothing at all wrong with that.

You can live your life just like you always have and legit nothing would change, but you insist on pretending this is an issue in your life that angers you. That's a you problem.

Yep.
Some people are just disgusted over the entire concept of tipping, and get super angsty whenever they're at any kind of restaurant. OP is definitely one of those people.

The company is losing out because they have to pay their employees more now.
We can get rid of tipping and force restaurants to pay a competitive enough wage to keep their employees, but it will destroy local restaurants.
They'll have to pay their best servers $20/hr and up to keep them from finding other opportunities, and they can't absorb that cost. Your entrees will go up 100 percent, and everything on the menu will be a la carte.
Or they just scrap servers and hostesses all together and every restaurant operates like a McDonald's.

What bothers me the most is. 20% on a bottle of wine. You literally just opened the wine i picked and poured it. Filling a soft drink is the same amount of work.

Yeah you don't get inflation and the cost of doing business rising.

That sounds like Company Burger. I really like the burger but with $5 fries and the 18 20 25 tip option I rarely go now.

That's what I said and I was down voted. I worked as a cook 20 years ago. Salads were never boxed unless they were dressing on side.

I don't tip cashiers for hitting buttons.

I'll eat out less before changing other habits.
Food inflation is 50-100% locally.

100% and a lot of countries already do this. Service is fine (that is usually people’s counter argument).
