You're the one that's calling support of a public health campaign against self destructive behavior in smoking "selfish".

I agree. I don’t even smoke anymore and haven’t for almost 7 years. But it doesn’t bother me at all if someone else is in a bar. And the way I see it you can move if it does. Now anywhere there may be kids such as restaurants it should be off limits.

Your argument is that we have too many rules so no matter how much sense one makes we shouldn't add another.

Your comprehension blows.

My argument relates to property rights.

Private property, your house, smoke away. Businesses are regulated by the govt. It's always been that way.

Yeah, that's not really true, but whatever.

It's like the government coming into a restaurant that you own and saying you can only sell salads because fried food is a public health concern.

I am.

And I say that as someone who believes that everything the government does must have a valid public interest to promote the good wellbeing of the citizenry.

A campaign dedicated to eradicating self destructive behavior in smoking cigarettes qualifies as such and thus a ban on smoking in public venues can be ok.

Smoking cigarettes has absolutely no medical, financial and scientific value whatsoever; it's one of the biggest killers of Americans and should be negatively stigmatized whenever it can be

Smoking is on a trashy level by itself.

Aren't we talking about private property and not "public venues"?

So where is the line for you?

Fast foods?
Alcohol?
Unprotected Sex?
Premarital sex?
Gay sex?
Skydiving?

There are thousands of things that people everyday that are potentially dangerous that have no financial or medical value.

Any place where the public is welcome.

Don't let the name on the deed fool you.

You really don't and will never "own property" as long as the concept of property taxes exists.

Should we do the same for drinking?

While true, not really relevant.

What about a privately owned venue?

If someone wants to engage in a self destructive behavior, that's their own fricking business, is it not?

I find the idea of a man buttfricking another man to be disgusting, but if buttfrickers want to engage in buttfricking each other in the butt, it's their own buttfricking business, is it not?

Definitely not. No part of what I have said supports that.

True Libertarian thought process, which you are trying to adhear to, is flawed. There is some sort of mix that is perfect, but cray-cray's like yourself are what give the title Libertarian a bad name.

Private property rights are radical libertarian theology?

When your behavior negatively affects others around you.

Smoking stinks, makes other people around you cough too much and can get sick from secondhand smoke if exposed to it too long.

All of those are bad and a few of those are probably worse than smoking in of itself but they don't obviously negatively affect anyone else around them the way smoking does.

What kills more people per year, drunk drivers or second hand smoke?

WHAT????? You are welcome to frequent tranny bars, do you frequent tranny bars? Because if the answer is "no, because I don't want to", then you have illustrated my point.

You mean the property the government allows you to operate as a bar?
