A couple of kids might drop them down a few k. They are still probably paying 11-12k in taxes. 1k per month isn't exactly pocket change for most people.

They kind of stick it to you when you are single and make decent money.

sorry about getting laid off, but the good news is that you will make less than 100K this year and will qualify for the stimulus check.

If you’re getting a stimulus, you probably don’t pay much in taxes
We paid 15000 in taxes last year, owing 1500 when we filed. Getting 3400, eventually.

So, if these people need the money now, do they not have debit cards? I don't get it.
even the weed dispensaries in Colorado can't take debit cards

These go for about $1200 if anyone wants those solid low mids.

Come on man you know 99.99999% of the posters on the OT are way way over the income requirement to receive a stimulus check. This board is the greatest collection of wealth, GQ looks, and athleticism the internet has ever seen.

with a couple kids... not really
If someone is making $130k pretax and puts 5% into 401k and has about $300/mo in health insurance premiums. They’ll pay about $10,500 in federal income taxes after the $4,000 child tax credit.
That’s about 10% of their take home.
And yeah. $10.5k isn’t a lot. But neither is the guy paying $45k when compared to what Mark Cuban pays in Income taxes.

But they aren't really all going to buy drugs, so my question is valid.

ya people making $75k annually don't pay shite in taxes - worthless bums.
Lets not forget to consider what a 1099 independent contractor is paying.

If you filed MFJ in your last tax filing year and the $105k was the only income your household made in that year you’ll get $3200 assuming both kids are under 18

I think you will be getting one based on that information.

Think about it, paying every American 1k per month would cost almost 4 trillion per year. 12k per year is peanuts too but that's almost equal to the current entire federal budget.

Correct. I’m paying $16 in taxes this year and getting the full $1,200
Um. You may have only owed $16 on your federal return, but I’ll bet your entire $1200 that you paid much more than that in federal income tax via withholding.

Top 1% pays 40% of all taxes. Top 20% pays 90% of all taxes
I’m sure top 20% includes some people getting checks
I’m not getting a check but I also don’t think I pay a lot of taxes compared to the 1%

I am not eligible but if I were, I'd buy an AR14.
