Ikea Cabinets - Good Quality?

My wife bought a bed for our daughter from Ikea. The nuts and bolts to it came in a 20 pound bag. This bed took me 6 hours to put together. I told my wife to NEVER buy anything from Ikea again. This is your PSA

You are better off going to a dicount building supply store and buying cabinets. They will be crappy and as fragile as the Ikea ones but a lot cheaper. I installed a whole kitchen's worth of uppers and lowers for a rental and it took a good bit of work to get everything square and plumb. At least they have solid oak doors and face frames, I added extra support where needed to give them a fighting chance.

Their cabinets aren’t bad. Better quality than most their stuff. They have a lot of cool customizable options for them, especially the corner cabinets. And they have a decent choice of door designs.

The only thing I really don’t like about ikea stuff is that they are constantly discontinuing models and changing things. I bought some cabinets from them a while back and then wanted to add a few more a couple years ago, and they changed the depth of all their cabinets so I had to basically get the new ones custom built to match the old.

Friends have had them for 5 years or so, they have children who are absolute terrors, the cabinets have held up pretty well at least from what I can tell.

I haven't but I know on Reddit Home Improvement that they are regarded highly for quality, looks, and price.

You get what you pay for.
