Well, he's right.
Stop buying cigarettes and smartphones if you can't pay your water bill. 85% of poor people are poor because they make consciously bad decisions.

Every single poor person is that way because of one or multiple bad decisions in their life

I was poor for a year or so, then I stopped being poor.

What poor decisions led to you being poor?
Posted on 11/15/15 at 7:53 pm to danilo
It's not your fault if you are born poor, but it is your fault if you die poor.

Grossly incorrect.
Number one indicator is the financial success of parents.

All the ones I know, this is true. Then they double down on bad decisions and ignore good advice and squander help because in their feeble minds they think they know better. And can always blame their failures on "the man" or their version of "the man".

This, there was a story the other day about Marshawn Lynch giving a kid money to buy shoes because the kid said he was saving up to buy shoes.
People in the ghetto always have expensive clothes and shoes, yet their fridges look like this...
Tons of crap cheap junk food or nothing at all. (took this Friday)
and behind that panel in the back.....
Katrina fridge. You have a Cadillac, kid has Jordan's and you have a damn Katrina fridge. SMDH (those are long dead maggots)
(and yes, I see this a lot in the ghetto.)

Why the down votes on this? A five year series of more good decisions than bad decisions between the ages of 16-21 can change a family tree.
Don't smoke.
Don't get pregnant of have baby mommas
Finish high school
Go to trade school or college
Preaching just those four things has the ability to change the future for some of the poorest of the poor. But they don't listen.

Waiting for SFP's 3 keys to not being a fricking loser.
If you're poor after the age of 30 or so, it's your fault.

Oh man, it's just that easy? Why didn't our government think of that?
I'm nominating you for a Nobel prize.
Don't Smoke? Theres a lack of health education and aggresive minority/poor tobacco advertising LINK
Don't get pregant? A serious lack of sex education in poor neighborhoods LINK
Finish high school? gang violence/drug trade/poor education/poor parenting
Go to trade school or college? assuming poor passed high school, you need money/ knowledge of loans to go to college. There's a serious lack of counselors/teachers and education efficiency in poor areas.
This last point seems to be a pressing issue. I think that education reformations in poor areas geared towards vocational school would be greatly beneficial.
Yes I know that theres a lot of social welfare abusers etcetera and that a whole seperate issue that must be dealth with.
Simply put, it's not that simple. The answers lie with widespread education reform and a concentrated effort by politicians/businessman/community to do something about it. It has a very strong potential to enhance communities and the country.
