My Paw Paw drove this bad boy in the 80s. I wish it were still around. Would be a cool restoration project.
There’s a good chance you’ve got a few aunts and uncles a few towns over you’ve never known about.

Mine drove his farm truck around his 180 acres every evening checking on his cattle while drinking his Michelob and chewing Levi Garret
Sounds like a damn good way to end the day

Mine drove an International Travelall. He’d use bondo to patch any holes.

, first truck was a Ford blue Ford courier. You could roll down the passenger window without reaching far.
I had one of these toyotas.
Think it was around 6k brand new, you could form the sheet metal with your hands it was so thin.

My Papaw in Natchitoches Parish drove the below. He'd forget to shift out of 1st most of the time when he got older and then would finally shift into third (3 on the tree).

My papaw drove an orange 70 something el Camino because he was a man. I remember us going to pick up manure for his garden in it.

My PawPaw was a carpenter and always drove a truck.
He had a 75 Chevy that looked just like this.
He kept it pristine clean, said every Sunday afternoon he'd wash and vacuum, and check all the tires and fluids. He was an ex-smoker and had a "No Smoking" sign, red plastic with white letters, attached to the glove box door with sheet metal screws.
It had a sweet 8-track player and Hank Williams or Gene Autry were most likely to be playing.

My dad had the Courier...
Same color. I learned how to drive a stick with that truck.
Oh, and he smoked Picayune's!

One day while going around a curve the door came unhinged and Uncle Ed rolled out in the ditch,
I dont let mine lean on the door to this day

My Granpa had a f100, didn't smoke, but lots of Redman packs

Mine drove a 70s Chevy stepside with a stake bed for hauling his crops. 3 on the tree, no AC, drivers rear quarter panel and bumper rusted out from Red Man tobacco spit out the drivers window while rolling.

I had one of the first 1982 S10 Durango optioned trucks similiar to the one pictured. I put 200K on it and sold it to a coworker with everything still working on it. He put another 25K on it before he sold it. I saw it a few years later and wanted to stop the driver, but I was at a red light and he was gone before the light changed. I have to wonder how much longer the old girl lasted but it was good to me and you could really load up that 7' bed.

shite baw, my Pawpa had this exact El Camino. Probably 2 packs of Pall Malls a day and numerous Jax and Schlitz cans in the bed.
