If your neighbor's dog barked loud all day/weekend but not at night

What would you do?
Nothing, just live with it since it isn't barking at night?
Tell the neighbor because you will never spend a minute in the backyard without it barking?

Dogs only live 10-14 years. Just wait it out.

i wouldnt go talk to the neighbor. odds are they dont give a shite about the dog.

but in all seriousness i don't get that.
it bugs the shite out of me if my own dog is barking much in my backyard, not to mention how nervous i get about what the neighbors think. mine will get a bit rowdy a day or two a week barking at squirrels. We'll make her wear a bark collar a few days and she'll cut it out.

I'd feed it some leftover meat scraps during the day.

If he shuts up at night they are probably crating him. Day time barking isn't bad unless you have a newborn, you shouldn't get robbed.
Bonus: when my child was small I'd get him to sleep (finally) and the f'ing dogs would start barking. I would throw some frozen Jalapeno, cheese, spicy deer sausage over the fence and they would shut up.

thats why i said i dont think they care about the dog. a previous neighbor had a dog like the OP is talking about. all day long the damn thing just barked. i went over one day and he looked like he just wanted some attention.
luckily my gf's dog is pretty great at not barking. it came almost to the point where i now rile her up when people walk in front of the house so she will at least let me know when someone is breaking in.

How can people sleep without a noise machine?

I close my eyes and relax.

I'd anonymously call the cops or animal control. Repeatedly until the sounds stopped.
If it doesnt stop, I'd probably consider ways to open the gate or let the dog out so that it could escape. If that wasn't possible, I'd have to consider how much the noise was affecting my quality of life and how much it was worth to me. If it was a significant enough issue, I'd probably pay someone to steal the dog while the owners are gone. If it's a pitbull, I'd pay someone to tranquilize it, steal it, and humanely put it down and dispose of the body.
I love animals so it pains me to say that. But fortunately for me, I love me more than I love animals.
I wouldn't say anything to the neighbors because they already know it's a nuisance and they don't care.

I live on lake (well, residential retention pond). Our neighborhood dogs apparently have a conference call set up for every Saturday morning at 7AM across the lake. I know because Fido BRIllini gets upset if I don't wake up to open the door and let him call in.

Hey, I'm living the "Outskirts of Baton Rouge cookie-cutter suburban subdivision with nothing within walking distance" dream!
