I know you know I'm ridiculously good looking. So do you think it would be irresponsible/trashy to sign off on a 15 year old belly button piercing?

Well, it's preferable to the tongue or clit because if they get one on either of those they are looking to caress a dick with it. Guys don;t frick belly buttons.

This is a tough one because like it's been pointed out, we might be out of touch with what it's supposed to mean. I know it used to mean sexual freedom or something along those lines. I'd have to look at the person and decide I guess. Is she trouble in school, breaking curfew regularly, etc. and go from there. It's not an automatic yes or no right away from me.

You're right and that's what I'm going to do. I don't want to create conflict between her and my parents and then have her come running to me everytime she wants to "get away with something" all through high school. Whether I agree with it or not, I understand the bigger picture is more important. And she does look up to me a lot, which is why I'm always asking for advice instead of just giving in most of the time. I still don't think it's as big of a deal as so many people think it is.

I would probably feel the same way as your parents, but God gave me all boys, so I'm really not qualified to answer.

It is tough but I know she's a great kid and I feel like by telling her "no" I'm implying that I don't know her/trust her/that she's doing it for the reasons listed by the shmoes here, or that I care what other people would think ab it. But the parents hath spoken and I get off easy with the "well if it was up to me" line. And I pray hard that I'm given all boys too Festus

Yeah just another dumb generalization people are stuck on and use bc they have nothing else to go on.

Justification is sad... Ultimately it's your decision, others are just stating their opinions... If you were wanting cookie cutter answers this wasn't the place to come...

Just dumb....ask her 3 older brothers what they think about girls and belly piercings.....if they like it, theres your answer!

Why support her in doing something that would make her more likely to be able to "handle herself"?

Damn what is it about you class of people that keeps the trashiness going thru a FIFTEEN year old girl? If it were a good idea, you would have brought it up to her!

Be a man, be a father, say NO to stupid ideas. Her life in NO WAY will be improved by this piercing.

Yellowfin is dead fricking right. There are fathers who are men, and then there's everyone else who was a yes guy.

I wanted one at that age as well, but my parents would no way in hell let me get one and I respect them more because of decisions like that.

I did end up getting one freshman year in college and they were still pissed at me.

I always thought they were kind of cute and innocent when the girl's other piercings were limited to
A single pair in the ears and had no tattoos.

On the other hand, I've always considered them way less gross/trashy/suggestive than a nose piercing. I've never found one of those to be cute/attractive.
