Regular clothes as today.

But tie a sweatshirt/jacket around your waist with the body in the back and the sleeves like a belt.

I can't remember if guys did this, but girls cut the bottom hem off jeans and cut half an inch up the side seams over our Doc Martens.

Someone mentioned Starter jackets, but that was elementary/middle school for me. I was in HS in 96.

Yes Starter jackets were early 90s. I had one around 1992ish. Seems like some folk here weren't really alive in 1996.

Starter jackets were still around in 96. JNCO, Docs, Structure, and Hilfiger ruled the day. Puca shells were more 98-99. Same with the frosted tips. The big thing to start that school year was the Structure polo with a solid color in the middle and white down the sides. Everyone had at least one and most people had multiples.

If you ain't wearing some Doc Martens you can stay home.

The old long boots were going out of style in 1996 but still around. I wore the lower ones (think Red Wing work boot) for entirely too long.

They slogged through 3 NOLA Mardi Gras

wrong. just because they went bankrupt in 1995 doesnt mean their clothes disappear in 1996. dumbarse

I am not saying they disappeared completely, they were out of style. People weren't buying that garbage in mass quantities like 91 when hypercolor had its most profitable year. 96 was in the middle of my high school experience. That stuff was well out of style by then.

Seems like we have a lot of early 90's people in this thread trying to put your styles on us, lol.
