the most poor people don't work and pay income tax, but they do have a place to live and have a portion of property tax funnelled down to them.

I would lower corporate tax to entice industry, and I would put stipulations on scholarships for in-state students. The scholarships are a 10-year work loan from the state. 10% of the scholarship is owed back to the state for each year that you leave early from the state. This is to encourage the lack of brain drain that currently happens from the state. I would also buc against trends that universities use and offer a lot more scholarships to out-of-state students.

Problem with all this is the House is fricked up and no one will take any risks. i’ve never seen the reps on both sides so dysfunctional.

Finally, bring back rest areas on the side of highways.

donate property to a race trac or bucees and let them manage it

also get rid of homestead exemption so that people who live in grandmas house in the ghetto have to pay property tax and then they don't and that property goes up for sale in the sheriffs sale

I would launch a law suit against other states that pollute the Mississippi River . I would hold the oil and gas industry accountable for the enviorment destruction they have caused, ( like the John Barry and he southeast Louisiana flood protection authority tried to do a couple of years ago LINK) . I would explore renewable energy sources for Louisiana like offshore wind farms, floating solar panels , hydroelectric . Also legalize grass

Overhaul the wildlife and fisheries department. No more politicians having any input. Invest a lot more money in our outdoors infrastructure, maybe even build new lakes.

Allow access to any navigable waterway or the waterway must be isolated from public water by land. Or implement a very high tax on any land that is submerge by water (or tide influenced) 365days out of the year that is accessible by navigable water.

Overhaul the state police, No more seatbelt tickets inside city limits or under 35mph speed zones. Increase 4 lane state hwy speed limits to 70mph. Any speeding ticket wrote on state or federal highways goes to the state. Use inmate labor to clean the state up!

Legalize Marijuana but impose a very high tax on it.

Turn most of the small colleges into trade schools. Start in the 10th grade in high school learning a trade if you are not college bound.

Cut funding or close failing schools. Teachers given raises based on performance of students. Stop teaching common core.

Defund all charter schools and turn over to local school boards.

Eliminate income tax

Set a local and state sales tax cap at 10%

Increase property taxes on property worth more than $200K

Must be a property owner to vote on increase of local or state property taxes.

Overhaul welfare limit EBT purchases to meat, cheese, bread, milk, dry vegetables, flour, corn meal. sugar etc.. No more sweats, sodas or cooked food.

Cap insurance companies to the national average in premiums.

Just a few things off the top of my head.

The official language of Louisiana will be Swedish. In addition to that, all citizens will be required to change their underwear every half-hour. Underwear will be worn on the outside so we can check. Furthermore, all children under
16 years old are now 16 years old.

Homestead exemption creates a huge portion of the population that has no consequences for passing anything funded by property taxes. It’s a huge problem in some local areas due to demographics and assessment practices.

The exemptions should be eliminated and the rates lowered.

Enforcing tax collections on multiple collections methods is more complicated, expensive, and less transparent than using a single collection method. Income tax should be eliminated because it doesn’t collect taxes on people earning unreported money. Sales taxes vary wildly and are hard to predict accurately for future budgetary planning. Property Tax is easy to enforce, easy to project revenues, and is consistent from year to year.

As Governor I would do the following:

1) call for constitutional convention to free up money and make it to where the current situation is never possible again.

2) Louisiana has a workforce quality issue. This cant be solved overnight. Immediately use the same ideology Texas uses for its ISD System.

3) Abolish the State Income Tax and increase property taxes.

4) Hire someone from NTTA and HCTRA to front the new Louisiana Toll Road Association. Immediately give this 3rd Party complete control over the creation of new infrastructure in Louisiana while allowing LaDOT to upgrade/fix current existing roads.

5) Immediately legalize weed.

6) Immediately rescind all business retracting policies. We want to become a hotbed for fortune 500’s.

7) Reduce the amount of Universities in the State.

I live on HWY 1 in Thibodaux. You wouldn’t believe how much trash I pick up every weekend from the front of my yard. I was thinking the same thing today as I was picking up trash from these low life mother frickers. I also have the privilege of picking up trash in my backyard that floats down Bayou Lafourche. Today I grabbed two 8’ fluorescent bulbs out the bayou. Frickin trash POS a-holes.
