I'd go to medical school. I'd also slay as much as possible because these dudes today don't know how to pick up girls.

I put PLUMBER as occupation on my son’s dentist paperwork the other day just to see if the oral surgeon looked at it.

First thing he brought up. “Plumbing is one of the best things you can be doing right now. Excellent choice”

Trade school. I’m not having some queer woke professors indoctrinating my 18 year old self. Maybe get a plant job. Couple of tall boys on the way home every day. Destin in July.

As a retired engineer that actually sounds pretty awesome

I was too dumb to be a doctor and too smart to be a lawyer though

Can you imagine being 21 in a world where girls do hip thrusts for exercise and wear leggings everywhere they go? The fact that Gen Z is having less sex than any other generation by a wide margin is mind boggling.

Construction surveying is an Ok route.

I did land surveying for a year and almost starved .

Property surveying has changed drastically in the last 20 years. Most of it is done by computers and the days of title research have gone.

Total stations and gps have shrunk down the industry and sped up the process which has downsized the need for land surveyors.

I’ve always got a kick out of the dynamic on here. Blue collar adjacent jobs like engineer/construction management telling people to go to trade school. Trade school graduates making money to send their kids to college.

Military for 10 years, gather pension and free tuition. Major in an engineering field. Go work for fed gov from 32-57. Retire. Get two government pensions, 401k, then SS. Pretty good plan. I know an older fella at my church who did this and he's worth about 15 mil.

I would get a dual degree in Classics (or Math) and either Finance or Economics and try to get an job in Investment Banking

Or.

Supply Chain Management.

Or

I would say screw it and become a Diesel Mechanic like my son.

Regardless how data is collected in the field, it needs to be signed and sealed by a PLS. And the number of them is shrinking. A PLS is not in the field unless it's a one man shop. And drone aerials are a tool to gather info but someone still needs to find and set corners.

Looking to the future the need will still be there and will never go away.

This. They make more money than electricians or plumbers and don’t have to do hard labor or any actual work at all during the day. All you need is a cell phone and 30 minutes of your day.
They even make more than doctors and don’t need to go in debt.
