You forgot the most important one - have a kid.

I would set that at 25.

I would not want it enforced by the government, just social norms.

People live into their 80's. You can have the same number of kids, just later and you would be so much better off. There are exceptions but if people were generally financially established by the time they have them the kids and society would be so much better off.

All the other stuff 16 driving, 18 everywhere else

Vote 25 (this would be the first age they would be eligible unless actively enlisted in the military (18), you would still have to meet other requirements)

Not saying you're wrong but I'd like to see the argument that allows for making a choice to potentially die for your country but doesn't allow for buying a beer or playing a game of blackjack.

Enlisting voluntarily definitely carries risks, but it's not a dumb or unhealthy decision. It's quite the opposite. The benefits far outweigh the risks.

Everyone saying 18 for driving apparently don't have high school age kids. Talk about a pain in the arse if you have to shuttle your older high school kids to school functions every day.

No, you can't drink just because you shot a man in Timbuktu.
Volunteering for service at 18 doesn't confer sense to use mind and mood altering drugs.
You can't vote either.

I was, but at 16 you're mature enough to bang someone 2 years older. That's in a lot of cases a junior dating a senior.

Serving in the military, smoking, drinking, and gambling all should the same age. If you are old enough to choose to potentially die for the country then you should be granted the right to do the others.

there should be a mandatory 2 year military stint for everyone when they turn 18. they can start all the gambling, drinking, etc when they get back.

16 is fine for drinking
