At some point you’ll realize no one is going to know you have it, assuming you’re actually concealing it.

I'm sure most don't do this

I have friends of 20 years, who know I carry and have told me I don't have to ask them countless times, I still do.

I will admit that I did carry in the hospital in 2016 when my dad was in there because it was right after the cop shooting in BR and no one knew what those BLM frickers were up to. I wasn't about to get popped in the parking garage.

Yes, and like I said, it is unclear in many instances. You can’t carry at an event that requires a permit. So if you are at French Quarter Fest, can you carry on the streets of the quarter where no food or drink stands are located?

This.

If you are actually concealing it, no one should ever know you are carrying (unless you are having an LEO interaction that requires you advise the officer).

Even on the driveway?

(Walks up to crowd)

You cannot carry on school property, but you are NOT subject to the 1000 foot "no gun" perimeter that extends from school property. In other words,

I’ve always wondered about this. I used to live by a church that had a school attached to it. My front porch was within 1000 feet of their property. I would ponder sometimes if I could get in trouble just bringing a gun out to my car.

That is a grey area, but because you are on YOUR property the whole time, you should be good.

Well technically there was only off street parking for my house. But on the weekends I’d park at this law office because of the people blocking up the streets for church on Sunday.

But I’m generally talking about bringing a shotgun or rifle in a case to go hunting.

And I don’t live there anymore so I guess it doesn’t matter. Was when I was living in Baton Rouge.

if apprehensive about where you can carry how are you going to be confident in when to pull the weapon or not and when to pull the trigger or not...

I would assume so, if you are on their private property.

I’m sure most people don’t or wouldn’t do it, but by the letter of the law they should.

I don't understand this. Do you mean "private residences?"

Winn-Dixie is private property. There's no owner I can ask for permission. Even if I'm allowed to ask the manager instead, that's pretty onerous.

You would arguably be in violation, but considering your circumstances, the application of the law would constitute a clear impairment of your right to keep and bear arms under the 2nd Amendment.

Private residence.

You are correct. I used imprecise language.

And you have a conceal carry permit you are idiot if you comply with this. They cannot deny what they cannot see and the way they know is if you tell them.

You’re a piece of shite if you carry in someone’s residence without their permission.

As I read this discussion (good discussion, seriously...), it saddens me that all of these good points and observations are preempted by the ridiculous and unfortunate state of the world where even if you follow the rules but get the wrong LE interaction or DA, you're screwed.
I know it's "better to be judged by 12", but how did we get to the point in society where criminals were coddled over law abiding citizens? What will it ever take for the criminal element to ever be supressed again?
Sorry- just philosophical this AM

The parade clause was essentially for Mardi Gras. Too bad the criminals didn’t get the message

I carry in New Orleans without a permit.

It’s my Constitutional right.

I'd argue putting up signs and opening up a residence or any private property to the public in order to engage in commerce would, or at least should, make the standard the same as stores or businesses open to the public.

Would still probably stick with "What they don't know, they can't freak out over."
