If you had to live your entire life in a single 80F window, what would be your mean temp?

M = your mean temperature (fahrenheit)

Let's say for xiv days out of the year, the overnight low is M-40, and for xiv days out of the year, the daytime high is M+40, with all the seasonal in-betweens that you can imagine. What's your M?

For me, M=60F. Two weeks of daytime 100F highs can be pretty rough, but warmer weather means more going outside and more skin exposed by tLLotOT.

I'd much rather be too cold than too hot.

He's saying pick a temperature and you have to live within a range that's 40 higher and 40 lower. So if you pick 60, your max temp is 100, min is 20.

I changed my mind. It's 35. 75 during the day and -5 at night. Perfect half of the time and 10 is still cold as shite anyway. I'd learn to dress for it

-50 so I froze to death and didn't have to live in an 80 ft. window like a fish.

You lost me at the Roman numerals. Not because I didn't know them but I'm not answering a question with roman numerals.

I'd much rather 75/-5 than 100/20. Everything sucks in your scenario.

70. It pushes over 100 here all the time in the summer. Not a big deal.

I'd rather not freeze my arse off. 30 is already too cold but I'll manage.

65 would be as low as I could go for a mean.
