It would be the same as driving from Houston to Orlando. Puts the size of Europe into perspective.

I'd imagine one drive is much nicer than the other.

Same distance maybe, the time it would take wouldn't even be close.

Distance or time wise?

Because if its the same distance, im sure it would take a heck of a lot longer to do it in europe vs driving down I-10 to I-4 or whatever the frick the route is

eta: I-75

So you are saying it's the same distance that female astronaut drove with a diaper on to get to her boyfriend. Got it...

Outside of the cities, which is the driving equivalent of navigating Thanksgiving dinner with the inlaws after one of the dads/uncles/grandfathers has enough wine to bring up something he saw on the news the other day, driving in Europe is fun as shite. And I'm not just talking about the Autobahn (which is also an amazing experience, though not necessarily relaxing ).

It's my wife and my favorite thing to do. We block out days of just cruising through the countryside blaring Elton John (no idea why but it's the perfect music for it), stopping in villages or whatever else looks nice. You meet some amazing people and experience things that no tour book will show you.

Any vacation to Europe without renting a car is a waste IMO. But again, I cannot overstate how miserable it can be driving in cities. It's organized chaos, but we aren't used to the chaos. You WILL be a bad driver in European cities so the only driving you should do in euro cities is to GTFO.

I love to drive in Europe as well. Rent a car with a manual transmission and hit the countryside. We catch a train out of the big citiy then rent a car in an outlying one. Takes a strong couple to split the navigating/driving duties, but damn it's fun. I wouldn't go over there without it. Italy next year.
