1. More natural beauty (mountains in particular)
2. More affordable housing
3. A tiny bit of weather diversity (I hate cold weather much more than your average person, but I would enjoy just one decent snow per year. I hate snow, but seeing that first snowfall each year is always a nice event.)
You're describing North GA or Eastern TN.

I grew up in Alabama so that's always going to be home to me but if I could I think I'd like to live the simple life in Alaska. Not that it's so simple or easy to live there.

I feel the same way about Denver, it's distance to the mountains is the only positive

Santa Rosa/Northern California, Savannah or Wilmington would all suit me just fine.

Can't believe the number of people that want to live in DC.
Good job market, but what's the attraction otherwise?
it's expensive, but you make more money
traffic sucks, but there are ways to get around that
bars are not terrible at all, and there are great happy hours throughout
food is actually really awesome

What am I missing? There are, of course, a shitload of museums
this is the county I live in, you can see it's pretty good

Only two correct answers
I've done the Colorado thing. There are better answers. Areas of Utah, Arizona, California, Washington. Alaska too.
