Too many of these are basically known:

D B Cooper - Died in a jump out of an airplane
JonBenet Ramsey - killed by her mom
Alcatraz escapees - drowned before getting to shore
Litvinenko - killed by Russians using Polonium 210
JFK - shot by LHO
Marilyn - killed herself with pills
Natalie Holloway - killed by Van der Sloot

Not all of the details are known for the ones above, but finding out those details alone would be a waste of my one chance to "know the truth" IMO. Even the rest would just be solving a crime that would have little value to me.

Now if I knew where the Gardner Museum paintings were or the diamonds taken from the Antwerp Diamond Center, that might be some useful information.

Taking out the possibility of profit, I might just settle for the exact coordinates of the flight recorder for MH370 or even the exact coordinates of the Hale Boggs plane crash site. Even those mysteries might bring closure to some people and, in any event, I'd be more interested in those than in the identity of the Zodiac or Dahlia killer's identities.

I was under the impression that there was pretty good evidence that those guys were in South America (Brazil, IIRC) somewhere.

I would like to know the details of Elisa Lam's death. How in the frick does she end up dead inside a huge 8ft water tank and then close the lid behind her. No ladder was found near the tanks and no way for her to lock the only access rooftop door. Very intriguing

Just finished listening to the podcast Accused about the unsolved murder of Beth Andes in 1978. Very interesting.

That, and DB Cooper.

I would say this one, but only if I could find out that Cuba had nothing to do with it before hand. If it involved anything other than something tied to Cuba, I would be surprised.

Shelby Holmes, LSU, Saints and Nascar Fan Extraordinaire.

Murdered 3 years ago walking home from his job at the River Center on Monday 10/21/13. Official date of death was 3 days later after his organs were harvested.

I want to know who did it and why.

I had to look it up, but once I started reading I remembered when this was a story.

LSU even had a tribute for him on the jumbotron prior to the game after he died.

He was a good man, a good friend and I miss him. A reserved place in Hell isn't good enough for the punk who did it.

From all accounts he seemed like a guy who wouldn't hurt a fly and for him to be found dead, from gun shots.. with his wallet still on him, creates even more suspicion. Did someone shoot him, realized they shot the wrong person and ran off? Was he in the crossfire of of something he had nothing to do with? There are a lot of questions that can be asked.. That's really sad.

Elisa Lam is a good one. The elevator footage is just freaky, and throw in her winding up dead on the roof in the water tank makes it even more bizarre.
