If you could go back in time and invent something we commonly use today, what is it?

Let's say this needs to be something that you can create with the current knowledge that you have. For example, I would probably invent and patent the paperclip, because I know exactly how to make it. I couldn't invent a computer, because I am not that smart.

What simple object would you like to have been the inventor of that would make you rich nowadays?

I'd go back to Greece and finish the simple steam engine. Who knows where the human race would be if that happened.

Insane that they've sold over $50mm worth of these, so simple and they work decent.
