If you could clone your favorite pet, would you want to?

I know that it’s happening right now, but I can only think of one pet I might clone.

No. Memories aren't cloned. The pet would have a different personality.

So, here's how much it really costs: to clone a cat it costs $25,000 and to clone a dog it will run you about $50,000. But that doesn't cover the total price tag. In addition, Intrexon charges $150 a year after the first year to store your pet's genetic material and there's an initial $1,600 fee.

No, just because you clone DNA does not mean you have the same pet. The experiences you had die with the animal.

So it’s for the rich, I was just asking would you if it was affordable. It probably will be one day.

We lost our favorite pet 8 weeks ago. She was close to perfect in my eyes, she loved everyone, just wanted to be loved, and enjoyed being wallered by everyone.

She was sweet, and trained easily, and we miss her greatly. I would clone her if I could.

He’s an 11lb monster.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

I have a Rottweiler/Pit Bull mix that I would clone. I have trained him to treat every human as a threat

Wasn't calling you out at all...I was just curious to see what the cost was...I agree give it about ten years and it would be more affordable..That's why they have the cost to keep the DNA on ice.

Just because you get the same looking pet does not mean you get the same mental and emotional pet.

Rover could lick you all day but Rover's clone could just as much bite you all day long.

Yep.

Even with a shelter dog you can find a relatively close match in appearance if you look hard enough.

But the quirks won't be there.

Without question, I would clone our beloved Black Lab Kramer. That dog saved my arse.

When my son was about two and we would go outside, he would hit the sidewalk and go who knows where.

One night when my wife (no pics) was out of town, my son woke up in the middle of the night and went outside and tried to run but Kramer would not allow it. Every time he tried to hit the sidewalk, Kramer would herd him in, not allowing him out of our yard.

As we lived in NE Ohio at the time and it was spring, we slept with the windows open. My daughter eventually heard his cries and woke me up (I sleep like the dead).

Thank God for that loyal beast, otherwise, I would have been person of interest in a missing child case.

Hell yes, I would clone him in a second!

When I was 6, I had a parakeet. Green and yellow. His name was Pete and I loved him so much. He could say "Pete is a Pretty Bird', and knew how to open his cage door.

I'd pay $1,209,875.00 to get him cloned, but he died in 1958, after a 7 year life and we buried him in the back yard in a tearful internment. I'm not sure I could even find the gravesite now.

Oh Well....

If they were immortal, yes. But I don't want to lose them again, no matter how many times I could bring back a copy.
